Zoloft and suicidal thoughts

My 11 year old son has been on zoloft for one month now it releived the

ocd symptoms but tonight he told me he had suicidal thoughts last night

before he went to bed that he felt like everyones life would be easier

without him and he said he had those thoughts again tonight. I called

the pharmacist and they said that yes that is a side effect but call

the doctor called the psychiatrist and she wanted to put him in

hospital i said no he is acting fine seriously he is not going to do

anything she then said that if he is having these thoughts that he may

also have depression becaus eonly kids that take zoloft for ocd that

get these thoughts have depression with it I said I dont think so I

know hes acting fine just had the intrusive disturbing thought and

assured me he wouyld never do it I then called the pharmacist and she

said that NO it doesnt mean that he has another disorder case studies

show its just the meds so I called his psycologist and she hasnt gotten

back to me yet any advice on this I cant take him off it cold turkey

have to cut pill in half for like 3 days or so
