Guest guest
jjudy, from what i have understood most dementia work for about one year and then begin to taper off, dad had good reprieve with exelon and later namenda was added but his bp became unstable so we had to take him off all dmentia meds, and exelon has a caregiver program which i recomment that is available for you to get info and help with meds and other info, very good program the number is 1-877-memory4, try calling them, hugs sharon m Date: 2005/10/18 Tue PM 02:58:46 EDT To: LBDcaregivers Subject: meeting Hi everyone.I just came from a family meeting at the hospital where my dad is staying. This was the first time that I heard that his diagnosis on their record is Parkinsons. I was so upset. I was actually with him at the neurologist when he was diagnosed with LBD. He also isn't on any meds at all for dimentia now. He was on aracept and it stopped working for him...nothing else has ever been tried. The head nurse said that at his stage it isn't worth the chance of side effects. Could I please get some views on this. I did tell them that I was going to print a list of meds that others have tried with some success. I will look back through the postings to find them. Thanks, Judy Welcome to LBDcaregivers.
