Not enough water or detox effect or both.

Does anyone know why someone would get a headache when just starting to

drink Kombucha? I sent a scoby to my sister and she just started

drinking her first brew for a few days and says it is giving her a

headache. Thanks.

It's almost certainly a detoxification symptom. She should cut back on her

intake and ramp up more slowly.

Might be detox headache. Drink less but maybe more often, or just less

for a while.

1) Possibly not drinking enough pure water (with recommended pinch of celtic or

other whole sea salt). www.watercure2.com

2) Possible " detox " symptoms - KT cleanses and detoxifies the body... if she's

had a history of headaches before, could be clearing those symptoms out...

She might not be drinking enough water.

Kombucha does not substitute for water,

and in fact because of the detox effect

she should drink more water.

Nothing can be a substitute for pure water. The body needs pure

water to operate efficently. Water mixed with anything is not

processed the same. A person that drinks only ice tea, or KT, or soda,

or juice can become dehydrated.

KT works as a detoxifier, provides probiotics and chelates the body.

When this happens, the body needs more water to help remove the toxins that

have been released from the fat cells, bone, etc...

In our culture, we're so used to drinking tea, coffee, sodas, juices, etc...

Most of us already need more water (regardless of ingesting something to

detox).

Whenever taking in any food or herb that does help the body detox it is

essential to increase water intake. Otherwise one can feel much worse as the

toxins are floating around in the bloodstream.

www.watercure2.com is one source of more info.
