Guest guest
Hey everyone. Just wanted to recommend a product that I have found to be a great addition to BFL. It is Oroweat Light 100% Whole Wheat Bread. Most " light " breads seem to get that way by an infusion of air, but this bread has real substance and it makes a great sandwich. Two slices have 80 calories, 0.5 grams of fat, 18 grams of carbs (3 sugar), and 4 grams of protein. Sharon
Guest guest
How much fiber? That's the real kicker. A slice of bread should have *at least* 2 grams of fiber, 4 grams would be even better. Another product I highly recommend is what is called " Ezekiel bread " or sprouted grain bread. Instead of grinding grains into flour, the grains are allowed to sprout and then the bread is baked without any flour - it's about the healthiest bread you can find! Guest guest
That sounds really interesting - I did some quick research just now and found recipes for Ezekiel bread, but they varied pretty differently, including everything from kidney beans, to honey, to pinto beans, to molasses! I've never seen it before, but I'll have to look for it next time I'm at a health food store. «¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤» - Amy <http://www.elderberries.com/> http://www.elderberries.com Re: Bread How much fiber? Guest guest
So I read on another forum that if you toast your bread it doesn't give you gas. So I'm sitting here eating a toasted turkey sandwich. If it works I'm in trouble that was one good reason not to eat a lot of bread. Guest guest
Vicki Toasted bread...I've heard about that. To me it doesn't seem logical because all the middle part of the bread isn't toasted! Eat a loaf, and report in! Hugs Jo
