I just got a call from the school that they want me to sign a waiver cause the O.T. Has to leave 30 min after the meeting starts. I am like no why would I sign that cause she wants to leave for another IEP ! What do you feel is the best way to ask for transportation curb to curb service or how did you ask . My son will be going to another school under the NCLB transfer option and busing is req. Just don't feel there will be enough supervision to make sure he gets to class, does not run in the parking lot and get hit by a car or take off and not get in the school. I do have a letter from pedi neurology in support of this as medically necessary for his safety. So not looking foward to this meeting ! Yes I have been requesting results from the testing for the last several weeks. He does not say a lot about his day he is only Kindergarten . He is there a little under 4 hrs only. He is on medication in the eve that has a carryover effect to the next morn so I feel that is why they don't see some of the behaviors and symptoms. I have explained his issues to them at several IEP and provided documentation of his diagnosis. Took an advocate as well. Second, what does his iep progress notes say? Anything there you could use?It would seem that you're not documenting issues your son has at home and school. What does your son tell you about his days at school? Does he tell you when he has problems? What does he say exactly? Do you follow up with the school through emails which document the issues so you get a written response?  You note the assessments but how would you describe the issues your son has because of the anxiety, ASD, etc? How do these issues manifest in your son while at school? You need specifics as to what problems your son has because of his disorders. You need to be an active participant that goes to the iep meetings with specific examples of difficulties that your son has. What does a bad day look like for him? What supports would you say he needs to help him get through his day?My son is having another IEP meeting tomm to review OT assesment and as usual I just got it today . And as usual they say he is fine . The home questinaire indicates issues the school one does not. There is no metion of his sensory intergration and sensory processing disorders diagnosis in the history. And his ASD, ADHD,OCD, tic disorder, anxiety etc diagnosis by pedi neurology are reffered to as " impressions " . Every diagnosis I give them they come back and say nope we disagree and no services needed ! Has anyone else had this problem I'm so upset idk what to do next?Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®------------------------------------

REFUSE to allow the OT to leave. If OT is an issue that you think interferes with his ability to access his curriculum, then you want the OT present for the whole meeting. You can also state that you didn't have the assessment on time, and you want that noted on the IEP records directly on the document.

Good luck....as far as bussing, they do not have to bus curb to curb unless a safety issue. If he has a medical eligibility of autism, then request an outside evaluation if they don't give you services.

The time is five days correct to receive copy of the assesment? They do not feel he needs any OT services. He does have medical diagnosis of Autism, ADHD,OCD,AnxietyDisorder,IED, sensory intergration and sensory processing disorders from pedi neurology and regional center .Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®Sender: autism-aspergers Date: Thu, 02 Jun 2011 12:56:37 -0400To: <autism-aspergers >ReplyTo: autism-aspergers Subject: Re: IEP update REFUSE to allow the OT to leave.
