Hello ,

I take Lasix for edema. It usually

works well and has little to no side

affects for me. I do hope the doctor

prescribed you potassium to take along

with though. It is very important.

Good luck and I hope it does the trick

for you.

I also take Lasix for edema.  I find it to be really helpful.  My edema is

really bad if I travel.  Just be sure to stay by a bathroom. It is very

powerful.  I also take Potassium.  It is important because when you loose fluids

so rapidly your Potassium level may drop drastically.

Hi ,

I was on Lasix before, but I found an alternate resolution for the same

problem, instead of taking yet another medication I would drink at least (4)

24oz bottles of water with 1/2 of a fresh squeezed lemon per bottle, not only is

this refreshing it has the same effects as the lasix with the added medication

or the damage to your muscles that release your urine. (This also helps you

avoid incompetence) since its natural. It really works I have not had the need

to be on lasix for over a year and this remedy still works. Good Luck Give it

a Try!!!!!

I'm always a little leery about adding a new drug to the mix because I

already feel like a traveling pharmaceutical company and pincushion,

but it WOULD be nice to be able to see the tendons in my feet again

and to wear shoes that aren't plastic flipflops.

Thanks, . She mentioned it and took some blood today to get a

baseline. I was planning on picking up a bottle OTC since I tend to

go low on potassium anyway. Good to hear that someone else has had

luck with it.

Hi ,

I too am on lasix, 2 pills a day, 40mg..but I have been on it for about 3

years now.

I find that if it is real hot outside, my ankles and legs swell up so as I can

press in on my shins and see pitting.

However, since this last flare up in May, my feet and all the way to my knees

are ridiculous! I call myself ''Fat foot'' I cant say 'Big foot' because I am a

size 6.5 shoe  lol..I wear the beach flip flops too   cant fit in a regular

shoe  either...I go to the disability Dr. on Wed., July 2nd...maybe the

swelling in my feet will help my cause...only problem, I walk

VERY slow and it feels like I am walking in quicksand..and they 'tingle' too...I

do get pushed in a wheelchair

beause I tire quickly too from the 'walking with weights'.They said it was like

this because my albumin level is way low, so they are lowering my steroid,

slowly..I just hope the fat feet syndrome goes down before winter here....going

to the store in beach shoes might not cut it in our Chicago winter..yikes!!

Take care,

Diane..42

I am currently on 40mg of prednisone. Take 80mg 2 times a day of Lasix.

Fluid retention goes with the roids. I sent Cat pictures of my current

feet. After her " OMG! " comments, she called them " pachyderm feet " . If

that were not appropriate, I would have been offended. (LOL)

,

Sorry for late response.....have been on Lasix several times for edema...has

helped me considerably...just pee alot...helped me lose 15 lbs. or so of excess

fluid within a week last fall....but it depletes the body of potassium...each

time my doc prescribes potassium along with the lasix....wish you well...

Many Blessings
