I find I like cottage cheese if I puree it in the blender with some

vanilla extract and splenda. When I buy a tub, I just puree the whole

thing w/vanilla extract and splenda and then throw it back in the tub.

Hi Nic,

Thanks for introducing yourself, sounds like you've got a very busy life!

Well done to Joe! Woohoo!

Hope to hear more from you,

Darla

I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and thought I should introduce myself. I’m Nicola (single) parent to , 15, Asperger’s, and Joe, 13, autism and severe learning difficulties. is very reluctant to let me try bio-medical with him (after a miserable spell on GFCF diet) but takes SuperNuThera (and I hide Bio-Kult in his orange juice - he knows but says he doesn’t mind as long as he doesn’t see me do it!) Joe is GFCF, MSG, artificial sweetener free, low phenol, takes Houston Enzymes, probiotics, NCD plus various mineral supplements.

I’ve been on various other forums for a good few years and have had some good advice from Mandi. I’m really enjoying all the poo discussions as Joe has finally started to use the loo for BMs J but not all the time L.

Hi Nic

Welcome to the group, everyone is such a friendly, helpful bunch, this truly is the BEST of all lists!! I had to laught about the probiotics in the OJ. My daughter, (ASD, 10) likes to find things by herself, so if we go to buy a new DVD and I am raking thru the shelves if I find something I have to pretend I havent put it in an obvious place so she can then find it and tell me Look has found this all by herself, very sweet!

Hope you get inspiration here and any help needed should you decide to give anything else a go!

Luv Caroline Traa, Aberdeenshire

Spooky! I was just thinking about you too and was thrilled to see your posts on

this list. I left the forum that I was on and know I need someone to " answer

to " to some extent so I thought I'd start up with a list again.

I hope you, and the rest of your family are doing well. : )

Thanks!

I live in Wisconsin too! Near Wisconsin Rapids.

I worked out consistently for about 3 years, but was never fit. I was healthy,

but fat. I'm still fat and not so healthy anymore so I need to get moving

again. We are going to Walt Disney World in February (our 1st vacation ever)

and I want to be in much better shape by then so that's part of my motivation.

Thanks for the welcome!

No kidding! I live in Nekoosa, but I normally just tell people near Rapids

Hi Carolyn! Thanks!

Yup, you probably did see me over at firmies4life. I posted there

almost daily for a couple of years or so, but felt a bit out in left

field while I was dealing with my knee issues. I'm feeling much better

and am planning on taking it slow for awhile in hopes that my knee

doesn't start acting up again and while I lose more weight than I care

to think about. I'm still dealing with a bad case of plantar faciitis,

but sitting around isn't helping it go away as I had wished so I am

going to get back with it and just avoid high impact for awhile, which

I planned on doing anyway due to the knee anyway.

I can't remember if I posted any details so I will again. I'm 42, live

in Central Wisconsin and am married with 2 girls ages 6 & 12. We have a

pure-bred miniature pekinese named Capone that is a little sweatheart.

I work full-time as a Contract Coordinator for a local County Social

Services agency and DH is a forklift driver for a subsidary of a local

paper mill. OH! And I met ny Depp in person when he was filming

his latest movie near my home town. YUM!

I'm going to be concentrating mostly on 's, Turbo Jam and T-Tapp

to start with and then move back into Firms and Slim in 6/Slim Series.

I found that T-Tapp does wonderful things for my back and shoulders so

those have become and will stay a staple in my workout lineup.

I use to have alot of Cathe workouts, but got rid of all but her

beginner/intermediate ones and her kickboxing ones. I found out that

any more than that and it became more like work and I wasn't likely to

do anything then. I have almost every product that Beachbody has put

out and love them all. I think the only ones I don't have are Tony's

(too much impact and the latter too advanced) and Shaun T's workouts.

If I am consistant for awhile I may buy Chalene's new set when it comes

out. I have more workouts than I can even remember (literally) and

need to start weeding some out. LOL

If anyone has any questions, feel free to fire away. :)

Hi Tami, I'm aka Jen and I live in Michigan along with a couple of other people from this group. I'm 43, single, and I live with two crazy Siamese cats - Mia & Gizmo. My mom also lives with us. I've been trying to lose weight FOREVER! Last June (2007) I had to have a hysterectomy due to a HUGE fibroid that enlarged my uterus to the size of a 5+ month pregnancy....this did NOT help my stomach to look smaller. So now I weigh a little less but my stomach is twice as big from being stretched out (think pregnancy without have the kid!) Now though I'm determined to lose the weight. I've been exercising consistently since May/June. I'm doing mostly swimming, playing volleyball and

bowling. I will be adding back in walking and doing exercise videos. Jen

How cool that you are going to have your own personal training business! I debate on and off on hiring one for myself.

Hi All,

My name is Kate and I am a complete newbie to natural perfuming. My background

is in Chinese Medicine and I took a one year course of study to certify in

Chinese Medicine and essential oils. Since then I have opened a business, where

I make essential oil products. Face creams, body creams, body butters, natural

remedies etc. I have mostly combined essential oils with their medicinal

properties in mind. I also combine oils to scent body butters and lotions, just

for their smells. I've started reading everything I can on natural perfumes and

have started blending a few things and LOVE it!!! (unfortunately I ordered all

my beginning stuff from Liberty and after what I have been reading I'm a bit

concerned). I've loved reading what you all are posting. Thanks!!

Hi Kate,

Welcome! I've learned so much from this group of talented individuals. I

checked out your website and the first thing I noticed is that you are local!

Yippee! I live in R.I. and see you are in VT. I went to college in Burlington

(Groovy U-V) and miss it madly. I love VT. I miss the endless snow, gravy

fries, I even miss the phish-heads.

Glad to have you,

Before starting Inspra,

you should:

1) Blood aldosterone (on

the day you turn in the urine)

2) Blood renin (on the

day you turn in the urine)

2,5) Blood metanephrine ?

3) 24-hour urine sodium

4) 24-hour urine

potassium

5) 24-hour aldosterone

6) 24 hour urine for the

adrenal hormones that would be elevated if you had a pheo or Cushings. I can't remember what all those are.

Dr. Grim probably can

tell you more

For God's sake, you

should have had all those tests right off the bat. If you've had them, please post the

results (with normal bands). I

don't understand how your doctors can let you go 15 years with high BP. Amazing!

Hi,

I hope everyone is doing fine, thanks for making this information available.

I am a 44 year old male. I am 5'10 in I weigh 200lbs. I have had raised BP for

15 years, even while being very fit and 25 lbs lighter. I live in the UK.

In the past 12 years I have been on many types of BP meds and none brought my

BP down. I have been to emergency 3 times thinking I was having a heart attack,

just found low K. 12 months ago a cardiologist referred me to a endo. It has

taken 12 months to do renin, ct scan, mri. They found something on the ct scan

but not on the mri. I have been given eplerenone this week to start and go back

in 9 weeks. They want to do a avs but they don't even know which hospital does

them.

I pee at least 5 times per night, my legs and arms have been tingling and going

numb for 4 or 5 years. I have no energy, my mood swings are frequent. I forget

things alot. Plus I have numerous other symptoms.

My mother died of a stroke and had a triple bypass about 27 years before her stroke.

My Dad had alzheimer's, high BP and kidney problems. he peed alot in the night.

My 60 year old sister has had heart failure and a heart attack.

I am glad I have found this forum and I am overwhelmed by the amount of

information. Can someone recommend where I start?

Thanks

Chris

Ah , that does sound very tough....

and I suspect sounds too tough to handle alone -- even with your boyfriend

I'm glad you got him to participate in at least one program

Can you find a social worker or some such to help you figure if you have even more (legal) options? and to be sure that you have practiced responses as to his apparent threat to exclude you from a wedding (if someone would choose to marry someone so dependent...)

At least in my day he would have been considered 'ill', but I don't know that that would REQUIRE you to care for him?? I also went back to my folks for a time when I was very ill with depression, but I *asked*, and considered their care of me a gift -- a HUGE gift.

I would have some concern that you could well become ill by living in this situation, and do hope you will find best solutions.

and I would, like you are apparently doing, explore everywhere.

I for one am glad to have you here if it feels good for you.

I was also abused verbally by my father, and an ex husband. I am currently being treated for depression. But your son sounds like he thinks the world owes him something. You don't state his age. You say he is an adult. So practice some tough love. Tell him you love him, and evict him. Speak to an attorney, or your county legal aide. Hello Probably the best thing you can do for him is to put him on the street. There are programs that he can apply for such as the food stamps but there's also income support and job placement programs. The very fact that he won't apply for food stamps to help out is testament to your helping him too much. He has to learn to eat humble pie, swallow his pride and get on with his life. At the very least, you need to change the WiFi WEP/WPA code so he can't get on to the Internet unless he contributes something. Asking for him to apply for food stamps and public assistance to help out with the rent is only being reasonable. If he refuses to do that then he deserves nothing less than being on the street.Worse case would be for him to stay in a shelter till he gets on

his feet. They have social workers, counsellors and work skills programs at the shelter, that's why it costs the taxpayer over $100,000 a year to provide one bed at the shelter. It might be worthwhile to get him a metal toolbox with a padlock hasp, some security cable with both ends swagged into loops and a Masterlock Speed Dial combination lock. That way where ever he is, he can lock his wallet, checkbook, cash and important papers up in the toolbox. The security cable can be looped through a bedframe, around a closet rod or through a park bench, passing one loop through the other and padlocking the loop to the toolbox's hasp. The Speed Dial lock can have infinite combination length and the combination can be changed so there isn't the problem of someone only requiring an hour to crack the combination or of someone lifting the key from him while he sleeps. He can also use a quality keyed

padlock when he's away so there isn't the chance of someone spending hours trying out combinations but with the Speed Dial, they won't even know what length of combination to try. It's a poor man's safe and is invaluable when living in shared accommodations. As to his threat of suing you, let him try, it's not like he has $20,000 for a lawyer to begin filing the paperwork to do so.Regards,Subject: IntroductionTo: BeingSick Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2010, 9:44 PM

I don't know if I really belong here or if anyone can help me with my situation, but I will try to give as much info as I can.

I have an adult son who is still living at home, has never held a job, lives on the computer, doesn't drive and wants me to continue to support him (well he says not but . . . ) for the rest of my life. I have finally gotten him into a program run by AmericaWork for his depression and such. I don't know how much they have helped him during the few months he's been there or if they will be able to get him out of the house and living his own life.

I guess I need to back up some and explain how all this came about. His father (who passed away March '08) verbally abused him and me for that matter, used him for support, took him with him when he needed someone riding, didn't really teach him or expect him to go out and work, etc, etc.

My boyfriend and best friend is afraid that he will physically harm me, but I'm not so sure.

Just this morning he told me that if I put him out in the street, that he would hire an attorny and sue me because he is being treated for depression. He also said that when he gets his life together and finds someone and they get married, I will not be allowed at the wedding. I am doing everything I can to get this young man into society living a productive life, but he believes that the things I am doing, i.e refusing to buy all the food items he whats, while he refuses to get food stamps to help me out.

This is getting long and I'm not even sure if I've gotten the point across or if I even belong here.

Thanks for letting me join,

Subject: Introduction

Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member and very new to natural perfumery. I recently took a fabulous

workshop with Charna Ethier who told us about this group. I've used essential

oils in limited ways, mostly in scenting my cold-process soaps and doing a

little aromatherapy. Making a luscious perfume from the wide variety of natural

scents available was not something I knew anything about, and I'm now hooked! I

hope to learn more by being a part of this creative group.

Cheers,

Eileen

Hi I have chronic pain from Transverse Myelitis. I was surprised to see

that even mentioned. December this year will be my 10th anniversary of

having TM. To talk to other people about coping with chronic pain would

be very helpful. I'm not quite sure what info you want here so I hope

this is enough for now.
