Guest guest
Out of all the natural substances I ordered, orris root absolute instantly became my favorite. (Orris butter is heavenly, if you've never smelled it. Lovely, ethereal stuff.) I love orris so much, even though it's not a full-fledged perfume, I'm tempted to wear it straight, and I'm afraid to put anything in it that would smother the beautiful aroma! (Not surprisingly, my favorite orris perfume is Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist because it showcases the actual scent of the orris.) Does anyone have ideas for notes that would work without overtaking it? I just love that rooty, carroty smell. Perhaps something a bit sweet or some light, unusual floral notes would do it. Or...something... I can't imagine what... I want to leave the orris as plain as possible without ending up ho-hum. (Maximum recommended use is up to 8% of the fragrance.)
