Guest guest
There are studies on pubmed showing a correlation between aggression in children and blood lead levels. Can't you show that to them. This is crazy!! >>Yep and Lead associated with learning disabilities but Heard did put in the letter which I should have spotted in the beginning that he was askign for funding for Autism - when my angloe was always to ask for funding for toxicity. I think I need to start again with another practitioner with the toxicity angle and somebody prepared to front up the funders. Guest guest
I think that's the way to go. keep the "A" word out and go with "high lead levels". That's black and white. There must be some sort of higher authority you can go to. But I guess you've been there and done that...... I'm sure there must be somebody in the media who might be interested in this ridiculous state of affairs...... (that is, if you still have some energy to pursue this potential new front...) I mean everyone knows lead is NOT good in kids! Re: Re: Views/opinion - to give Paed/GP ... Guest guest
Just re-read this post. Why did he write "funding for autism" when he probably knew it was going o be a really "sticky" issue! >>No comment, maybe the same reason he told the guy from the PCT he didn't take part in clinical audit (he does), didn't know how many kids he treated (the receptionist could have told him) and didn't know how well they did (yet he has baseline ATECS and gets patients to repeat them) and refused to meet with my Paed while he was in Bournemouth for the conference - too much with his presentation. He has lots of kids doing VERY well, he shouldn't be ashamed of that. I just don't think arguing the case for biomed with mainstreamers (face to face) is something he feels comfortable with. I think I need a medic with a kid with autism - that shares our passion and knows what its like to be me. When we went to make the presentation to the panel, they told me that WAS the appeal although I had never had any correspondance about the original the decision. So I think its best to go back in with another application on different grounds. I KNOW they WANTED to fund me, but they need 'evidence', correspondance etc to satisfy their auditors and they didn't have it. Their excuses were pathetic but reasonable in the absence of a strong case from my medic. Very frustrating Mandi x
Guest guest
Do you have a Children's Minister like they do in Wales? If you can't find a reasonable thinking GP maybe that's an alternative. Guest guest
Maybe he was scared fo a witch hunt Mandi and just wants to get on and treat kids. I mean anyone who is really vocal about treating autism seems to have a bad time.
