Good job ! Are you finding that you're getting

stronger with P90? Although I didn't notice it at the

time, I definately got stronger through P90X. Today I

was doing bicep curls with 12's and really could have

probably used my 15's. Previously, the 12's would

have been a struggle. I need to get some 20's, I

think..... (I don't think there is anything in between

a 15 and a 20....I wish there was an 18!) I think I'm

going to post on freecycle a search for 20's, 25's and

30's. I also want a kettlebell - 15 or 20 to start

with.

Last night while DD watched her Land Before Time movie

in bed with me, I read my new book - New Rules of

Lifting For Women and I'm really thinking about trying

that program. It makes sooo much sense (heavier

lifting to build muscle to increase metabolism to

lose/control your weight - I actually don't need to

worry about my weight right now - I'm blessed

genetically with a metabolism that requires a ton of

overindulgence to gain weight - plus I think being a

life long exerciser certainly didn't hurt, but I know

as we age we lose muscle each year which slows our

metabolisms down). The workouts seem very do-able -

and actually shorter than what I do now. I'm thinking

this may be a good thing for me to think about doing

next fall when DD goes to Kindergarten and needs to be

there at 8:30 instead of 9 for preschool (and we're

both very slow in the morning). I'm thinking the days

I work in the office I would do the weight training

workouts from this book (I can't imagine them taking

more than 30 minutes or so..) and the days I

telecommute I would do cardio (or maybe I can start

running during my lunch breaks....). The only thing

I think I would have a hard time dealing with is not

having a video/DVD to follow - it would definately be

strange and part of the " fun " of my workouts is the

entertainment value of the DVD/video. Of course, I

wouldn't give up videos/DVD's entirely, I'd still use

them for cardio, yoga, Pilates, etc., and I would

still probably want to throw in a circuit workout here

and there as well. Anyway, this book and P90X really

got me thinking about challenging myself with heavier

weights. I've been using weights now for going on 10

years and I haven't really advanced much. (before

picking up the weights, I still exercised, but I only

did cardio - and the weights made a huge difference in

my physique, I think I have a better body now at 40

than I did at 30).

Anyway, take care, sorry to ramble! Enjoy your day

with your friend!
