Showing off is a perfectly valid reason to work on something! :) It'll

make a great photo for the home page too! I'll be jealous, that's for

sure. If it helps with running, that's a huge win!

, maybe wine isn't something you need to give up. For me, it

really was. I don't know why a glass of wine is such a big deal for

me, but I can't believe how much better I feel without it. They say it

takes 3 weeks to get a drug out of your system so that you can adjust

to a new normal. It is a drug. Well, my new normal feels fantastic. I

feel sharp again, and this affects every aspect of my life. One glass.

Who knew? Maybe it's simply that have better REM sleep without it. The

brain and body regenerates.

I remember hearing a doctor say that you can get the same heart

healthy benefits from getting together with friends to laugh and

share, and all those phytonutrients in wine are available in other

fruit.

As with all other habits, you have to weigh your own risks and benefits.

Love,

It's still my biggest weakness :)  I can live without every other alcoholic

beverage out there but wine.... mmmm...

stretched out adductor.  My adhesion laced tight adductor is what is

contributing to my knee pain and keeping me from running.  I also want to do

side splits so that my kicks will be higher in kickboxing.  High, cleanly

executed roundhouses are sooooooooo sexy (to me)!

injury prevention!  SO TRUE!  The more muscle surrounding these joints, the more

protected they are from erratic movement, I feel.

definition in my arms I get emotional.  Even when I weighed 115-120 in high

school I was never, ever this strong!  I had the cardio then for sure, but not

the strength and power I have now.

My joints just don't work that way. I hope your knee keeps mending so you can do

those cool events! I'm doing the Giro di Vino next weekend. I signed up for the

50k. I am not interested in the wine at all anymore. Boy, that happened faster

than I expected. Actually, I never expected that, LOL! I could write a whole

separate post on how much better I feel without alcohol, and don't even want any

on weekends anymore. I wont be doing the wine tasting part of the ride, but will

really enjoy the scenery and company.

toying with the idea of getting that STS tower. What a versatile piece of

equipment! I am doing all of these barefoot.

training REALLY helps cardio. For injury prevention, I think that it really

helps me to put my body through a different range of motion than just cycling

and walking, but I also think that the strength just helps me to power through

cardio more efficiently. More power!

enthusiasm in your " voice " when you post about these workouts.  I have 1-8 but

hope to acquire the rest of them one day.  I'm also worried that once I'm done

with CLX in around January I'll be like, " Now what?? "

better!  I'll still walk the Turkey Trot because it is steep and I don't want to

risk reinjuring it, but I should be able to run my 5K Jingle Bell run.  I also

signed up for the Shamrock Run again, this time an 8K - my first!  Next paycheck

I'll go see Dr No for more adductor smashing and laser treatment. Meanwhile the

supta padangustasana stretches and happy baby pose are helping out with the

tight adductor.  Now if only I could do side splits I'd really be in good shape!

chest and shoulders. I hit my weight goals for almost every set. Cathe does drop

sets, lower reps, and heavier weights. I didn't realized that this would be a

longer workout, and I hadn't planned a bike commute, so had to run/walk almost

all the way to the train. That's about a mile door to door. I walked in the

evening.

sure to sleep well and continue to eat really clean. When I got to work, I was

already hungry, even though I had refueled after the workout. I didn't need much

of a post workout refueling after mesocycle 1 workouts because my body is more

adapted, so I'm going to tweak my refueling this time around. It worked out OK

because I had brought my lunch. I ate most of it early, and then had lighter,

smaller meals the rest of the day. It worked out beautifully.
