Guest guest
If it is 105 outside in the summer, Barb, I think I would want some ac. However there are portable ac units which could be plugged in. barb1283 <barb1283@...> wrote: I'm beginning to get the impression, if it has a/c, it isn't safe, but that's just me. From what I have seen, they seem to be little mold incubators. Better to have fans, maybe a dehumidifier. --- In , abbie mccall <abbiebeam@...> wrote: > > great. do you know where it is and how much??? Iam interested. Guest guest
Actually I mean only window a/c or those through the wall a/c units, not central a/c. I have central a/c and the pan under the coils is always dry and also there is a good filter on unit. The window a/c as Jeff May pointed out don't have adequate filters so it's just air with bacteria and mold landing in a wet a/c box and producing a bacterial and moldy sludge. I've heard about the portable a/c's. Maybe that would work. I guess empty the water out like a dehumidifier?? The key seems to be a good filter for air and also the pan underneath coils should drain out as fast as water is taken out of the air, not stand around in unit. If you can get that in window unit or through wall unit, they would probably be okay but I don't know if they come with those things. They shouldn't be allowed to be sold I don't think. Probably responsible for alot of illness. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > If it is 105 outside in the summer, Barb, I > think I would want some ac. Guest guest
I have just never seen these window A/Cs with these boxes that everyone talks about. Is that really how they are?? Every one I've ever had or ever seen in New York (which is many, because that's all people have here!) just drips the water outside to the ground. In the summer when it's hot it's basically like little showers coming down from all the buildings. Can you get HEPA filters for window A/Cs? Someone mentioned it to me but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Lori
Guest guest
They just look like boxes handing out of windows or sometimes they protrud out of wall. They don't have any significant filter so air that has bacteria and mold in it go through and land in a little pond of water inside. Many of them seem to don't drain water out adequately. I am in a hotel right now and very clean but I asked them to clean a/c and they pulled it out and it had blackish standing water in it, about an inch deep, a sludge. Filter is inadequate, like a dryer filter, just a screen that catches lint. They are a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. Team them up with carpeting that you can't wash and you've got a moldy apartment. I can't find an apartment without one, so I'm hoping to find hardwood floor so I can at least keep floor clean of anything blown out of a/c, or better yet use dehumidifier as much as I can rather than a/c and a fan. I'm looking for a short lease though so hopefully won't be there next summer. I hope I can move home after remediation. Also as you say they drip water outside, and where I am they all have created a little swamp land on the ground below I noticed. So, they are causing trouble inside and outside of building. If they weren't keeping this mold business a secret, they would ban them I believe. --- Lori Baur <lori@...> wrote: > I have just never seen these window A/Cs with > these boxes that everyone talks about. Guest guest
barb--so many houses are vacant that I see on line. This is Texas. I wonder about mold issues. Guest guest
I have an appointment with Rae October 30th. He is proposing to make an antidote to medicine I was on that increased my symptoms. I'm interested to try it but I have to be there for them to develope it, so coming down then. My cousin who lives in Mesquite told me to let her know when I was coming and stay with her but I am tempted to stay at Marriott again because I'm so afraid of mold. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > If it is 105 outside in the summer, Barb, I > think I would want some ac. Guest guest
Would you stay in a regular room or his rooms??? I have had antigens compounded. I believe they make them up on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The process then takes about a week. (as my humble mind recalls). Why don't you call and ask for the lab where they draw your blood and ask if you could send the drug in advance with payment (around 100.00) and it would cut down on the time you have to be here? I don't see why you would have to be here just to drop the drug off and then sit for a week while the antigen is being formulated???? bbw <barb1283@...> wrote: I have an appointment with Rae October 30th. Guest guest
I probably would stay in regular room since I found the clean room beds very uncomfortable. I could ask if they would start the process without me but I will do more skin testing. I didn't finish the process. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > Would you stay in a regular room or his > rooms??? >
Guest guest
nor have I. bbw <barb1283@...> wrote: I probably would stay in regular room since I found the clean room beds very uncomfortable. Guest guest
It goes on and on, hey? The beds in clean room have those flat springs and not much support. I meant to try those futons. They might provide a firmer support. I hate a bed that sags in the middle. My muscles don't relax. I should have tried to futon. I could book one night in them to try sleeping on them but I doubt I will be coming down much after this next trip. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > nor have I. > > bbw <barb1283@...> wrote: I > probably would stay in regular room since I > found the clean room beds very uncomfortable.
