Sharon,

That is right, it has no gluten. It has wheat grass, right? and

maybe some other grasses. Grass doesn't have gluten. By definition,

gluten is part of the seed head or grain. None in the grass part.

Those are two completely different botanical compositions. You can

remember it this way, if you can't eat wheat, barley, rye or oat

grass, then you couldn't eat any other green vegetable either.

Thank you. I just purchased some yesterday and was pleased to see that it is

gluten and dairy free. We're going to

try it and see what kind of results we get.

my son is 3 yrs 9 months old. we gave one capsule of primal defense on an

empty stomach and gradually moved up to 2 capsules on an empty stomach. we have

seen awesome stools since taking it along with already taking the houston

enzymes. i have heard primal defense's success with our kids is 50/50. they

either do good or bad on this supplement. generally there is no in between.

good luck.

I started my son on the Primal Defense when he was about 44 months old. He did

fine. Actually, I give him about five of those scoops, heaping full. Primal

Defense played a huge role in turning my son around. It also caused him to

regress big time when I stupidly took him off of Primal Defense for about three

weeks because a DAN doctor said to take him off it while getting several tests

done.

Primal Defense

For anyone,

I have a question about Garden of Life's Primal Defense. I bought it

for my daughter because the label said safe for all ages, but when I

emailed their customer service dept. to ask about the dosage for a

three year old, they said they do not recommend for children under

4. My daughter is 3yrs, 4months old. Has anyone given this to

their child around my daughter's age, and if so at what dosage.

Right now, she is getting one capsule of Culterelle per day and HNI

Enzymes. And I am taking the Primal Defense, thought what the heck,

maybe it will do something good for me.

If anyone has an answer I would be most grateful if you would share,

Sincerely,

Lesley

I wouldn't doubt it, Primal Defense is powerful stuff, people usually

have to take it very slow with that. I get irritable from it, but i

know it is doing some powerful detoxing.

Anyone had trouble using Primal Defense? I'm suspecting it is causing

irritibility in my son. I've only used it about 2 weeks and am slowly built it

Could it be that? If so, why do you think?

A while back I was looking into Primal Defense for my daughter. I read many

things and posts from people that stated if your child or self had " gut " issues,

it seemed to aggravate them and didn't work very well. If you had minimal to no

" gut " issues, it seemed to work wonders for those kids. Go figure. My daughter

has " gut " probs so I never tried it.

In what ways have you seen improvement? How much do you give? How long have

you been using it? Like I said, I looked into but saw too many posts about it

making thier kids worse, so I never tried. I'm one of those 8 out of 10 people,

if 8 out of 10 have good results I usually will give something a shot. At the

time I looked into Primal Defense, it wasn't an 8 out of 10 option. I have

however, been looking at it again. She's been chelating for a year, and has been

on enzymes and the diet for a year as well. Our biggest gut issue is yeast, do

you feel (if your child has yeast probs) that this has been helpful?

If you want another testimony.....

We use this product as well. When we started it, he was talking in one

day. It killed lots of yeast, he was urinating through all his diapers,

and started sleeping through the night. This was the very first medical

intervention I tried, and what lit my fire back in April to treat Devon

medically. The benefits we saw convinced us to go against what the

doctors were telling us, and do it anyway.

I have taken a short rest from it, and plan to purchase more this month.

I have seen with Devon that rotating probiotics is very effective, so we

use 3-4 brands.

Karyn--

I'll give you my input on it too...

My two boys do well on it also. They have multiple food allergies

and one is autistic. I just give them one scoop a day. They are

both in the 40 lb range. I have a friend that has yeast issues

and she loves the product. She also gives it to her son and he

does well on it. I guess you need to try it (start slow and work up).

Buy it from a place that will let you return it if it does not work out--

it is pretty expensive, but it seems to last a long time since my boys

only each get one scoop per day.

I have a container of this in my fridge and wanted to know with a

sensitive child(8, 75 pounds) what would be a good starting dose?

Start out at a fraction of a scoop for a few days (maybe 1/4 or 1/2

scoop per day) and slowly work up. If you see problems with the

amount you use, cut back even further.

My son did horribly on Primal Defense. At first I thought it was die-off.

After six weeks of him gradually getting worse and worse, I did some research on

Primal Defense, then was kicking myself for not doing that research earlier.

My very informal searches of PD showed me that roughly half of the reports I

found from people who used it said they did wonderfully on it, but the other

half did horribly on it. Obviously,my son fell into the latter category. One

theory is that the chlorella in PD causes problems for kids who are mercury

toxic.

Whatever the reason, I stopped using PD on my son, and he very slowly got

back to his previous level, except for one thing. His pupils became dilated when

using PD for the first time ever. This was nearly two years ago, and they have

never been perfectly normal since:(

I did that and only got to 1/2 scoop with definite problems. I went slowly.

Maybe he doesn't tolerate it. I'm just not sure why. I took it away for the

last couple of days and things are almost back to normal. My gut says that if

he regresses with it, then he probably needs it, but going this slowly I wasn't

expecting him to have trouble with it.

Thanks Sharon. I read that last post and thought I was crazy because I know

I checked it for chlorella. We just started it with our 9 year old and have

not seen anything yet - used a full scoop too for past 3 days.

There's no chlorella in it any longer..

The ingredients in it are:

HSO probiotic blend

Poten-Zyme Superfood blend (dunaliella salina, barley grass juice,

oat grass juice, yucca juice)

ionic plant based minerals

iron (fulvic acid source)

If it had chlorella, I probably wouldn't have tried it in the first

place.

I actually give one scoop at lunch with my son's supplements
