Guest guest
I had horrible cramps in my legs and feet and stabbing pains in my legs. It was frightening and very painful! I also had the tingling sensation in my hands and feet.My hands hurt all the time and I had red bumps on some joints. For about a year I had to wear foam pads in my shoes because the bottoms of my feet ached so badly. One Dr. told me it was probably heel spurs, along with tennis elbow and a bad rotator cuff. Odd thing is that since I've been out of the building and under Dr. Shoemaker's care all those pains are gone!!! I still get a little stiff but the pains are all gone. Sue I am not sure if it's my meds or my exposure -- having experienced a bout with stachy a year ago and slowing recovering -- one issue that really bothers me (amongst many) is the very painful at times cramping -- most my left leg that also has a bad case of peripheral nueropathy -- feeling of an Axe through the foot and strong electrical shocks out the toes -- thank goodness for Lyrica -- as this usually control the Axe/shock issues. My last bad cramp in my left leg caused painful and very sore muscle below my knee felt for over two weeks now. I have to react quickly if I feel one coming on. Guest guest
I have stabbing pain down left leg. I think it is in region of sciatic nerve. I can't take CSM right now due to inflamation in small intestine. It frightens me also as it is so intense. One other health concern I have to still look into. > > > I had horrible cramps in my legs and feet and stabbing pains in my legs. It > was frightening and very painful! Guest guest
I am tapering off prednisone now. I have been on it for a year. Besides the sixty pound weight gain, every joint hurts to ,ove. Is this normal? Janet
Guest guest
The same thing happened to a coworker of mine. She was put on steroids and got much, much worse. Giving steriods to a toxicly ill person is like putting gas on a fire. Dr. Shoemaker explains it in his book. Maybe someone else in the group can explain it to you. Too complicated for me to even try. The prednisone makes you much worse. Sue I am tapering off prednisone now. I have been on it for a year. Guest guest
Thanks Bill, No Prednisone -- most of my stuff is for breathing issues -- repair and rescue, etc... some mood/mind easers and then supplements. I see very little if almost Zero potassium listed (GNC Mega Men and Probiotic Nutrients Every Man II). The cramps tend to be in isolated areas -- very painful -- though, at times, I can feel one startig in a " new " area that I have to be prepared to abate ASAP...... Thanks again for the input. I will call one of my 10 docs (no joke) to see what they think. I should be able to narrow the call to the GP, neuro, etc... (Doctors should warn and guide their patients, but...) Potassium deficiency will cause severe cramping, and this worsens if you consume more salt (sodium). Even if you don't take prednisone, try taking significantly more potassium, to see if it eliminates the cramps. (but not more than 2,000 mg potassium per day.) Guest guest
Ya know Bill, I apologize -- I need to check to see what these breathers, etc... contain. I have been surprised in the past -- thinking I was not on steroids when just about everything I had was steroids. I'll do a little more research -- sorry to be so stupid on this -- as I put a lot of trust in my medical crowd -- and often -- they don't have answers.... Guest guest
No, Janet, it isn't.....or, it shouldn't be. If I were you (have you been on high dose steroids?) I'd have myself checked (now!) for AVN. That stands for avascular necrosis....in plain english, that's lack of oxygen to the joints, which can cause MAJOR damage. Hips are a big joint-- & I think lots of times the damage at least starts there. Could be wrong, but I don't think so....... Sorry, honey--but get with your doctor asap.
