Guest guest
Recently I met with the director of a newly formed 2005-2006 school for special needs children -The Governess School. I learned their specialty is meeting the child’s academic needs where they are and challenging their weaknesses while emphasizing their strengths. I was most impressed with their goals and vision. I was equally encouraged by the children’s progress and confidence level since starting the school in the fall. The teachers are certified and the school is housed with the Perimeter Christian School. The Governess School is not equipped to address children with disruptive behaviors. This program specializes in children performing significantly below grade level. Below find their location, school schedule, and contact information for any of you who are looking for immediate placement and encourage you to check it out by contacting Jillian Thiele. A hybrid school is an educational collaboration between the student, the parent and the school. Our program will address the student's academic difficulties, while at the same time support and nourish their academic strengths. The Governess does not take over the student's education, but assists the parent, in finding the best solution, for their child's curriculum. We support the parents and supplement the home-schooling curriculum. The primary focus is on reading, writing and math.
