Guest guest
Things are REALLY going slow over here, and I am hoping it is because it is so cold over here. This is my first scoby. I brewed green tea, added my sugar, cooled it down and put the scoby in. The tea was slightly warm (please tell me I did NOT kill my scoby), but was not terribly warm. But I am not seeing really any growth. I am not even sure what grow would look like. Our house is a very cold one (usually 60), so I am hoping that is just what is slowing down my scoby growth. The mixture smells like kombucha, and we are on day 5 today, and it tasted way too sweet. So how can I warm up my brew? I was told that you should not put it near electrical devices, so that ruled out putting it in my Excalibur dehydrator like I do with my yogurt. And how can I tell if my scoby is alive and doing well?? Is anyone in the Monument, CO area that could help me? Thanks, a
