crossfit and trail running - raving, happy rant

I'm so excited. My company announced the annual challenges. One is a 3 month Crossfit boot camp, 3x per week. They're paying for it! Crossfit is super expensive, and it looks daunting to me, but they're making it very accessible and free. I'm doing this. I don't know when this starts. This might interrupt Chalean, but she'll be there for me when I'm done. :)

The other challenge is a trail run event. This includes coaching sessions beforehand. I don't know if I can work this in, especially since I've got the 35 mile ride in August. It depends upon the date. The course is open for NINE hours because it includes an 18 mile course and two ultra marathon distances. I forgot the ultra distances because they sound nuts to me. I think they were 50k and 100k? I work with an ultra marathoner. She completely blows my mind. Anyway, this event is in the East Bay Redwoods. It's GORGEOUS!

I can't do the ultra, and I can't run on asphalt, but I can already walk 18 miles in less than 9 hours on asphalt, and a trail walk is certainly less fatiguing. If I can get a little training on trail running, and my feet hold up, then this might be fun. I'll have to think about this challenge. If the event is before, or in the same month as my ride, it's not going to work.

So happy. Plus, the scale is moving in the right direction again. :) Happy, happy.Plus, the speed skating class is next Friday. It's during work hours. I'll be getting paid to fall down. Oh, oh! Falling down on the job.
