When done, do you stir KT?

Hello, everyone!

My first brew of KT is going well and very soon I am thinking it will be ready.

I've never done this before so I don't know what to do when it is done. I notice

that there is a light brown substance (like a powder) on the bottom of the jar,

with the Scoby on the top trying to form. (I started this with GT's KT) After I

take the scoby out, do I stir this all up before I pour them in individual jars?

Or do I pour off the KT and then get rid of the light brown powder that has

settled on the bottom of the jar? Also, I have heard that some people second

ferment for a couple days after wards... Do you have to do this or can you drink

it right away? Is it better fermenting it a second time? What are the benefits?

What's the best way to do this? I have been reading the files here and it seems

it is all based on personal preference but since I have never done this before

what should I do first before I start experimenting on personal preference? In

other words

what is the basic thing I should do for the first time? I'm an experimenter by

nature so I know I will branch off but I need a good solid starting point. :)

Thanks so much! I'm so excited and can't wait to have some KT to drink, and I'm

so very thankful to all of you for your wealth of information. All of you are

the greatest!
