Thankfully a marvelous neurologist diagnosed it quickly and we were able to give him special injections for a month and the seizures stopped and never returned.Unfortunately, the seizures really hurt his brain and he struggles with severe learning issues. Although he is going into 4th grade he is at a kindergarten learning level. He is getting wonderful services at school which has made all the difference for him. Due to all we have been through along with my neighbor (who has a 12 year old dd diagnosed with CP and ADD) have decided to start an Educational Advocates business to help other parents manage and navigate through this very challenging and often frustrating system. Through our own resource teachers and d evelopmental specialist and therapists there really seems to be a need for parents wanting and needing advocates to help them get the services they feel their children need to be successful. We want to help. I would love to chat with anyone who has worked with an advocate in the past or any feedback or suggestions that you think would be useful to us. We are also interested in building our reputation in the community and would be interested in helping anyone that is interested, without a charge. We are in the St. Louis area.
