Guest guest
Oh, Janet, I pray for your swift recovery! Sounds absolutely miserable. The kids pick up stuff at school and bring it home to us, don't they...hard to avoid. And I did try to get a flu shot...I was in San Diego this weekend (I actually took 3 teenagers to the zoo this weekend and didn't have a single " horrible fatigue experience " !), and there was a nurse set up outside of the Longs Drugs downtown. She was doing flu shots for $25, and I was all ready to have it, until I revealed that I had had number 2 of my hep B series the previous day. She said I had to wait 14 days until I could get the flu shot! In the meantime, I guess I will keep up my regimen of Vitamin C and Echinacea tea, and all the rest of it. And will keep praying for you to feel better soon! > > Your hallowed leader here, has been taken down a notch or two by a virus of a different sort. Guest guest
Tim, Honey I think you misunderstood me, I said get the flu shot. Because I hadn't gotten my flu shot here I am at day 4 and still have my upset stomach, diarrhea. What everyone else in the family and friends they had for approx. 24 hours. If anything I think that my Hep C, is affecting my ability to get rid of this stomach flu. I have been running a low grade fever between 99.9 and 101.0 for all this time. I think that if I had a flu shot my immunities would have built up against it. Every year they come out with a new flu shot so that it can combat the different strains of the flu virus. Then they give you the shot so that your bodies own natural immunity recognizes the flu virus as a invader and builds up anti-bodies. My daughter and husband had the flu shot this year, yes they got the flu, but not nearly as bad as my granddaughter, son, or me. They were over it in about she said 12 hours. As far, as raising my hcv virus load, I think there is no correlation in the two types of virus. Guest guest
Thanks, that's a relief! I already had pneumococcal, along with a tetanus booster (adults need them - many people don't realize this). Was planning to do the flu shot, even though I don't ever catch the flu. As you mentioned, we don't need anymore bugs to " complicate matters " . > > Your hallowed leader here, has been taken down a notch > or two by a virus of a different sort. Guest guest
Janet, Take care of yourself,I know that you will. The Flu can be horrible. Last winter, I got the Flu and was in bed for 2 days. This was before I started treatment. I was thinking that there was no way that I would be able to tolorate Flu-like symptoms for 6 months. Luckily treatment has not been as bad as that Flu was. Get well soon. Lee in Arizona > Awwww honey, stomach virus' are just awful!
