Guest guest
Thanks, but I have one of those crummy HMO'S. I did call today and ask them to call and check on it and did mention that a friend already got hers! Had the first A, just waiting to start the B.. Guest guest
Tim, I feel for you and I'm sure I would do the same. I am a single mom, with 2 teens, and I am the main breadwinner. My ex doesn't make a lot of money, he is back in AZ and I bought a condo for him to live in because he has trouble getting on his feet. My fiance lives with the kids and me in CA, but he is an artist and only makes about a third of what I do, so if I lost my job, we would be screwed. Right now I have a good postion, ok but not great health insurance, and an understanding boss. Since I don't know what the future holds, and given the fact that the younger I am when I attack this, the better, I am going to " go for it " and fight it for all I am worth. My quality of life isn't all that great right now...I only have stage 1 scarring and mild inflammation, but my RNA is so high that I know this thing is making itself right at home in my body. If don't evict it now, it will just keep getting more and more comfortable. I just have to believe that I will be able to continue to go to work throughout the process, with just a littel downtime here and there. I don't know your family situation (I am assuming your son's mother is out of the picture completely if her family is trying to take him?), but if you ever decide to get treatment and need a safe place for him to stay for the duration, my door is open, Brother. susan Apologies > > in advance if this subject has been previously beat to death, > > > but I have a question about strengthening my immune system, > > > specifically to 1) fight the virus and slow it down, and 2) get > > ready > > > for tx and stave off any other viruses/diseases while my defenses > > are > > > down. > > > > > > Any ideas from the gurus? ... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Tim Parsons > > > > > > knoxville,tn 37931 > > > > > > 865-588-2465 x107 work > > > > > > > > > www.knoxville1.com > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > How low will we go? Guest guest
it is a pain to get copies i go down there and demand them. the girls in the office hate me i told them twice to get my records im leaveing, but i love my doc.i can for the most part get him to order labs when i want and tests ,he at times shakes his head and thinks im a nut im sure, but i think he respects my treatment chooce,my pastor boss and others tell me that they admire that i choose this way to treat most. say they would do it no other way.others laugh at my chooice and think the foods and the amount of herbs i take that im some vegan wacko cult type, lol.which is like 90%.of the total.but i hate that they make such a big deal about it.or are all of us here the ones that make it such a big deal lol Sheena <mom4possums2002@...> wrote: Thanks, but I have one of those crummy HMO'S. Guest guest
Nope Tim , I would still take my chances . Alternative solutions just offer false hope at least with the western meds I knew the odds going in and I knew the possiblity of long term effects . I seem to have forgotten Tim , have you ever tried treatment with interferon type drugs ? Re: Re: Immune System.../sheena sheena im much like you i pray i did the right thing. i bet you liz would say that she might have went the alternative way if she knew she would not clear.the tx takes a toll on your liver body etc,im 2b my chances they say are great.but im a single dad i cant work my ex family might try to take him.so like i say i hope my choice is right. i still have aches n pains but my quality of life has been great.im just hopeing something better comes along.Sheena <mom4possums2002 > wrote: Thanks, Tim, I just hope I make the right decision for me.. and I hope I KNOW at the time what that is..lol... The only thing I have done, other than research, read and read some more was to start my Hep vaccines (A, they are STILL back-ordered on and I quit ALL meds, prescription, or over the counter, otherwise I am still in a holding pattern.. Sheena Hillbilly Tim <knoxweb1 > wrote: sheena, i think you are worrying to much which can cause stress and make matters worse.i had to learn that today is all you can control.enjoy today, theres enough going on today to add tommorow to it.and if you look back at yesterday you will see it went fine. which was the day before worrys.i guess im trying to say dont let this consume your every thought.enjoy life today.the next day is never a promise.for anyone with or with out hcv. love n blessings Sheena <mom4possums2002 > wrote: Wow, well if this doesn't kill it, I don't know what will! I am printing.. I am still more than confused, think I've been reading TOO MUCH, and I have to agree with you that the Holistic Doc and the Conventional Doc will not agree, but I will hear them both out.. Getting a bit nervous now, it's been a long wait and that's almost over, decisions will have to be made.. Once I go with the fight, it will be all or nothing.. Sheena marvindamartian05 <marvindamartian05 > wrote: Can't wait to hear what the 2 docs say! I bet dollars to donuts they don't agree! Hee hee. Ok, for the entertainment or edification of all, here is what I am putting into my body now, each day:Morning:Milk thistle (MMT brand) 240 mg Selenium 200mgVitamin E 400iuALA (alpha lipoic acid) 300 mgN-A-C 500 mgVitamin C 1000 mgOatmeal or fruit salad5 shot espresso over ice :)32 oz water with 2 lemonsAfternoon16 oz or so of waterLarge salad with tofu and/or chicken or tuna OR tuna sandwich or veggie sandwich with cheese but NEVER processed meatsLate afternoonMore water with lemons ANDGreen tea or liver detox tea (has shissandra, licorice, etc), or 2 oz wheatgrass juice, freshly squeezedBananaDinnerChicken or salmon with rice and veggies, OR sauted tofu with broccoli carrots, other veggies and brown rice, OR sometimes steak. If I don't feel like eating dinner I have an HerbaLife Protein shake, with added protein powder. I mix in about 2 tablespons of soy lethicin. If I have some kashi cereal for dinner, I also mix in some soy lethicin.Lots of waterSome sort of juice, either Odwalla Superfood or PomagranateMilk Thistle 480 mgALA 300 mgNAC 500 mgZoloft 25 mg(I was taking SAMe too, but now I am on Zoloft to deal with possible depression from tx, and you can't mix them.)(I also can't resist Albertson's chewy chocolate chips, and if they are in the house I will not be able to control myself so my fiance must eat them in the car.)I was thinking about adding the coq 10 to this mix for my immune system. I ran all of these things past my doctor, and he didn't tell me to stop, he said it "sounded fine". I was happy with that response that because sometimes dr.s can be anti-vitamin.I's like to say that "I feel better than I ever have in my life!", but that would be b.s. This diet and regimen (forgot, I also take a walk every night for about a half hour)is keeping me going, and when I deviate, such as by not drinking all of this water, I can feel it right away. I have steatosis too, which I now know (thanks, Liz) can hinder treatment, so I have to watch my diet very carefully. I am 5'2 and 160 lbs so I can stand to lose some weight. So far, I have lost about 7 lbs since I started this "diet". My main goals are to fight fatique and have enough energy to make it through my busy day, and of course help my liver heal.Any suggestions and comments from the "panel" as to this plan are highly welcomed and appreciated!Sheena, we will figure this thing out, then we will wrestle it to the ground. I am a scrappy NY street kid and I know how to fight!
