A question to put out to all of you

We just came from my daughters doctor appointment yesterday with a plan to

take her off the 20mg of Prozac she been taking and onto 25mg of

Fluvoxamine. Her anxiety and OCD symptoms are still quite persistent and now

we have the added diagnoses of depression to worry about. This is our first

med change and her doctor made it clear to us that it would be weeks before

we might see any improvement. Because Elise is going off one med and

starting another, we were warned that we would most likely see her backslide

a bit before any improvement. It's a waiting game isn't it? We just have to

hope and pray that a med change is right thing to do and will help.

A question to put out to all of you: My daughter has been having extreme

mood swings. When she's up she WAY UP and her downs are scary because she

can be so angry and often expresses that she no longer wants to be alive.

Her Dr told us that her mood swings concern her because sometimes the drugs

used to treat OCD can bring on bipolar symptoms. Does anyone have any

knowledge they could share about this?

Also has anyone's child had luck with Fluvoxamine.
