Sondra Define me & What we miss when we look at Autism Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center At Norwalk High in the Fisher Titus Room 350 Shady Lane Drive Norwalk, Ohio 44857 Saturday September 23, 2006 8:00 am- 3 PM Sondra is an adult diagnosed with High Functioning Autism and a mother of 4 children with Asperger's. She is a long time board member of the Autism Society of Ohio, currently serves as an advisory member to the O.C.A.L.I (Ohio center for autism and low incident ) which is a state wide resource to families , educators and professionals in regards to autism and she is a parent advocate trainee for OSU LEND program. She also was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Autism Task Force. Sondra presented at the 2006 National Autistic Society of America Convention on two panels (autistic's who parent, and autism issues in woman) and Oct 20-21 will serve on several panels during the MAPP conference. Sondra is a poet and the author of Reflections of Self and has a DVD titled Define Me. Sondra has been speaking publicly for 6 years to help educate the public on Autism. Autism is a part of who Sondra is, but it does not define her. This is a powerful and insightful day looking at life from the perspective of Sondra , an adult with high-functioning autism.
