Guest guest
" dietician decided to take it upon herself to convince me that I am not doing Ana any good when I end up sleeping with her...I wanted to yell " Nothing about my child's life is how I intended it to be, I did not intend for her to suffer two dozen blood draws, four zillion IV's, and unknown pains for her entire first year...I don't want to hand her over to these therapists and leave the room for an hour while she screams " - So sorry, . I would would have totally lost it with that lady. Actually, I am a registered dietitian and am very embarassed by her behavior. How inappropriate to comment on your parenting style when you are trying to protect your Ana!@#! I assure you that dietitians have ZERO training in teaching about " parenting " and anything she said about this aspect of your life is crossing over the line and well beyond her scope of practice. Ana needs you right now so do what you feel is right. Glad you were able to keep it together during the appointment and come vent to us. If you want parenting advice you know where to go (personally, I admire Drs. Sears and Jay Gordon) -- not to self proclaimed experts and supposed authorities that have never raised a sick child. Hang in there...

When Kate was having GERD, I was even able to put a sleeping wedge in it until I figured out that dairy in my diet was the cause of her GERD. You just reach over into the co-sleeper and slide baby on into your bed, latch her on and doze!! As far as having two young children, my biggest recommendation is the MAYA SLING. Ohhhhhhh, that thing was a lifesaver. Being a PID pumpkin, was maybe more used to my attention than another child might be. Having Kate in the sling was the best solution. Kate was snuggled up against me, but I had two hands free for and quite frankly, probably forgot the baby was even in there!! Being in the sling all the time, Kate was the most content, easy baby you ever saw. Slip her down in, put up the outside rail and nurse to your heart's content -- even someone sitting RIGHT NEXT to you doesn't know it. Numerous times, I had somebody want to peek in to see the baby and I had to tell them not to because she was nursing! They had no idea. I felt like such a competent mom being able to nurse my baby while pushing in a cart in Target!!! So much better than sitting like a prisoner in your car doing it before you go in or after having to interrupt your errand. Don't get me wrong, I didn't always nurse her on the run, but I'm saying with the sling it's possible, you're not tied to a chair. Also solves the problem of people groping the baby -- I always hated that with , especially after finding out about the PID! If baby's in a sling, in order to touch him/her they'd have to practically reach down your shirt!! Okay, that's my endorsement. (mom to , age 7, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, age 3!, more dairy intolerant but very healthy!) Guest guest
they ALL GREW(well, okay, brennan is > super short, but I am fairly certian that isnt sleeping arrangement > related.) , Thanks. We will see how these therapy sessions go. I will make sure we have parameters set up so she doesn't cry too much. So, out of curiosity, how did you swing having a toddler, husband and newborn in bed? Just curious! I'm trying to figure out how this works! Anyway, since she will be breastfeeding, she bought a co-sleeper for her bed. That way, the baby will be close by. She purchased it at Babies 'R Us. Those are the two things I have thought I am going to have to buy that I didn't have with Ana. I just don't know how I am going to get Ana to sleep by herself in time if I don't get some answers to her pain...but we are on a mission and I will figure it out! As for the sling, I didn't know you could nurse that easily in it! It will be a must! Thanks! Ana 14 mo
