Guest guest
Hi All, Just wanted to let everyone know how iel's first check up at the Spokane Shriner's turned out. We recieved two sets of very good news. Shriner's did their own x-rays and it turns out iel's Cobb angle is only 29.1 degrees not the 40 degrees we were originally told by the Base doctor. Dr. T didn't measure the RVAD because he thought it was very low from looking at the x-ray. He also told us there's very little rotation in iel's spine. Dr. T seems to think there's a good chance of self correction. I'm not crazy about having to " watch and wait " so I really hope he's not just selling us sunshine here. He did say we were really well informed and asked where we found all the information we had with us, so I told him about the ISOP website and the CAST group. He told us how great it was that we'd found you all. And the other piece of really good news is that Spokane Shriner's does have the table to do Mehta cating. When Dr. T arrived about 4 years ago he was already trained in Mehta casting and got them to get a table and got Dr. C to get trained on it too. So even if iel's curve does progress we can get the treatment we want without having to travel.
