Guest guest
Have any of you experienced dealing with a school system who feels they are more qualified than a neurologist and psychologist (who can actually diagnosis a child)and will not provide the services recommended by these highly qualified professionals? They won't even give my child eligiblity under Autism, they gave us eligiblity under Significant Devolopemntal Delay for social delays. The only service he will be receiving is social skill training through ESY (6 hours a week). I'm not quite sure he'll recieve social skills training when the new school year begins. I understand IDEA states the school system only has to take information provided by the parents into " consideration " when determining eligiblity, but this has been suspected for 2 years and finally confirmed by two qualified physicians. Thanks, JN
