I feel like I am surrounded by morons-His father just " won " physical

custody. Partly because of the " hostile " environment at my home. He

has frequent meltdowns when told no or that he has to do something.

His father has encouraged him to misbehave for me, by undermining my

authority, putting me down etc. Parental Alienation-wait that's

another board-He also refuses to have him on any medication. My son

mostly just cares about being able to play video games, violent

ones.Latest obsession is hard core wrestling. His dad accomadates

this, so guess where the 14 year old wants to live (that's old enough

to make a sound decision according to court, doesn't matter that he

is emotionally immature) I even have a note from his dr. at Kirch

Center recommending his exposure to violence be limited. Well limited

doesn't mean anything to his dad. and it's not a court order. His dad

doesn't implement any of the suggested strategies to help him

succeed. I have visuals, routine, structure, sensory helps, etc.

Lives on pizza rolls and doritoes-also has Crohn's disease-wait

that's another board-I've tried so hard and the courts just don't

care. He's also been violent with others besides me-all women- tried

to stab a nurse with a pen at Strong. Does anyone know a disablity

advocacy group who doesn't only care about school? He has a right to

every oppurtunity available! His father says " I don't have any

trouble with him " that's because everything relates to him playing

video games all the time. I cry at the stupidity of people and the

helplessness I feel. Can you imagine how he's likely to turn out. His

dad did comment that son would probably be living with him his whole

life because he won't be able to work. I felt sick, is he trying to

get a disability check? I would love some help, suggestions. I am

totally drained from dealing with this man-several other issues also.

Thanks

It sounds like you need to get a good attorney who specializes in this sort of thing. If that's not possible see if you can get a mediator through the court. Do you have a parenting plan in place and does it give you any decision making power?

thanks for responding-I sure was ranting that night...gets so frustrating. Part of the problem is that I now realize I had a bad lawyer-my 1st lawyer passed away 2 monthe before trial last year, had to get another quick. Because we just had a custody trial, there has to be a major reason to have it changed back, (this is a major reason to me but courts don't understand any thing to do with the mind) An appeal would take too long. I would sell my soul to find the right lawyer for this. I've called organizations, groups everything I can think of. I don't know how to find one, but I am looking. Tomorrow is Dr. Sulkes at Kirsch, maybe he will suggest someone who can find a loophole. This whole situation has so many "problems" The Order only stated that father has physical custody, nothing else at all. We need a detailed parenting plan-he would only if forced. He's so awful and every one thinks he's so nice. My son has 4 more years until "of age". I'm practically frantic looking

for an answer. It's so hard to believe everything has gone so wrong. Could make such a difference in my son's life if strategies are continued. What little time I have for visits makes it almost impossible for me to be much of an influence. I can't believe the courts are so ignorant! Because son wants to, and we have conflicts, best place is with dad-errg! I will be filing a petition to get some sort of parenting plan-won't happen overnight. It seems like I should go on Dr. Phil....... if you know how to find a lawyer or organization for this I'd love to find out-so specialized and complicated in our case. Thanks again, Joanie <freecyclemail@...> wrote: It sounds like you need to get a good attorney who specializes in this sort of thing.
