Guest guest
Rainbow313245, Your story about the ammonia levels being normal the second time you did the test sounds similar to an experience a friend of mine had. Amino acid tests kept coming back with half of them really high, her doc would then check ammonia levels (which the amino acids indicated would be high), only to find that ammonia was in the normal range. She later found out that her boy had a genetic thing that caused ammonia buildup when digesting protein. His Dr. said that the ammonia would go in cycles and they wouldn’t necessarily catch it depending on when they drew the blood. This might be something to consider as a possibility for your son. There is another person on this list that mentioned having this same genetic marker in one of her children. Maybe she will have more to say. I believe she mentioned not being able to tolerate a high protein diet nor sulfer-based agents such as dmps/dmsa because they would raise ammonia levels. My friend also said that her child's self-stim behavior escalated in cycles that her doc seemed to think would correlate with his ammonia levels. Just something I remembered when I read your post. I will keep a eye open on the next round of his chelation and see if this action of self stem increases. If it does i will call his DAN and let him know. Meanwhile i will be treating for yeast to see if this is one of the problems since the dose in mg has been increased this time arounf by his DAN but this is good info than you once more I appreciate your time. Guest guest
This sounds very very intresting for me..... (excuse for my english...I write from Italy....) my doughter show very very high ammonia too; and now, I read it is a problem to use dmps-dmsa.... I've searched about ammonia and sulfer-based agents but find nothing.... what about this " genetic disease " that raise ammonia levels? THANKS A LOT Marilina > > > > Rainbow313245, > > Your story about the ammonia levels being normal the second time > you did > > the test sounds similar to an experience a friend of mine had. > Amino acid tests > > kept coming back with half of them really high, her doc would > then check > > ammonia levels (which the amino acids indicated would be high), > only to find > > that ammonia was in the normal range.
