Guest guest
My son weighs 34 pounds. Right now he is on 36 VS a day, along with the adult dose of Lauricidin (3 scoops). We are not finished our protocol. Hi Anita, I am trying to read up on the VS protocol and educate myself more about it. If you don't mind, can I ask how you decided on a dose of 36 VS per day for your son? Is this the plateau that speaks about in her website? The reason I ask is that I thought I had read that most people maxed out at 20-25VS per day, so I was surprised to read about a dosage in the 30's. I was wondering if you are also giving OLE along with the VS, and if not, is that the reason why your dosage is so high? or did your son's individual response indicate that the dosage needed to go this high? If you find the time, I'd be very interested in learning more about your particular AV protocol. Thanks so much and Happy Mother's Day, Sheryl
Guest guest
Hi Sheryl, I hope you had a great Mother's Day too :-) VS is not dosed by weight. However, I am in a bit of a shock that my little guy requires so much. And we'll be upping the dose tomorrow because his viral rash is starting to disappear. So, although I hope that we don't need too much more than 39/day (tomorrow's dose) I have promised myself that I will follow through on this. It isn't easy. Chelation is a breeze comparatively because chelation doesn't make my son suffer--he is, in fact, happier on chelation rounds. So, I didn't decide on 36/day. My son's reactions as we worked up to that dose decided it. If I were deciding, I would choose one a day, and save the poor child the suffering of ingesting all those enzymes. And save hundreds of dollars too. The plateau that speaks of can really vary, but it is important to understand that plateau idea, and how you must work up to it. I had to stop using OLE because it can impact smooth muscle. This caused my son to become constipated (stopping the peristaltic action of the bowels--I think I said that right). I believe that if I were able to use OLE still, the VS dose would likely be lower, yes. I do plan, however, to use a final high dose of OLE when the VS is not bringing about a reaction anymore. Just for 3 days or so. I really believe that attacking the viruses through as many mechanisms as possible is best for most of our kids. I was very upset at my son's rather rare response to the OLE because it is a power antiviral agent. However, it is also clear that the VS, Lauricidin, and Sambucol are working. As are the immune boosters I give him. I hope this might help, Sheryl. There aren't very many hard and fast rules to rely on. Anita > > My son weighs 34 pounds. Guest guest
Anita, I am so glad the antivirals are working for your son. I find it remarkable how different kids react to things. We saw such nice things with the VS, but my son decided to stop eating entirely on it so I took him off. I tried again to start him on it and with 2/3 of a capsule and he stopped eating again. Yet we are fine with the OLE, even though we come from the totally constipated camp (resolved with thyroid support).... Anyway, glad to hear it is all going well. Are you chelating through this? How is the yeast? Anne > > > > My son weighs 34 pounds. Right now he > > is on 36 VS a day, along with the adult dose of Lauricidin (3 > > scoops). Guest guest
>I really believe that attacking the viruses through as many >mechanisms as possible is best for most of our kids. Anita, Interesting that you said this. My wife and I were just talking about this the other day, and Stan and I had some conversations about this at the DAN! I am starting to agree with this. I am starting to think that there is no one antiviral that knocks out everything, and attacking from all directions or rotating every couple months or so may be the key for many kids. Even the Colloidal Silver that we used for a week knocked out some things and caused us to see gains in two kids. Another parent called us today with the same experience with this stuff, but increased stimming. I think that as parents report back after switching antivirals it will be extremely helpful in confirming or disproving this. We are planning on starting Valtrex soon on our son if everything goes right, and we will report back what it did after OLE.
Guest guest
Anita, Thanks so much for your reply. I learn so much from reading your posts : ) As I understand it, we need to continue to increase the dose of VS (or the combo of VS and OLE) until we no longer see any viral effects. Since your son's rash is starting to disappear, you will increase the dosage of VS to see if the rash reappears? If not, then you know you are at the right maintenance dosage for your son? Then, you continue with this dosage for a couple of weeks and try to slowly taper down? Please correct me or chime in if I have this wrong. Can I ask if you have considered adding in LDN to your supplements because of it's immune modulating effects? I have been sitting with an Rx for LDN but I don't know when to add it in. I think I'm still seeing progress that I can attribute to the Valtrex (in spite of not seeing any rash or fever) and I'm not sure if I should wait this out, add in LDN, or start adding in VS and OLE. Wow, so many questions! Thanks for any advice or suggestions, Sheryl Re: VS/OLE (Anita) Hi Sheryl,I hope you had a great Mother's Day too :-)VS is not dosed by weight. Guest guest
My son started LDN two week ago and the only difference is we have a more cuddly boy. My understanding is that it is a mood elevator and is to help with affection. I really don't even know when you see the full effects of it either. ---- Original Message ---- From: mysuperteach@... mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: VS/OLE (Anita) Date: Mon, 15 May 2006 17:48:07 -0000 ><html><body> > > >Sheryl,<BR> ><BR> >I have been following the & nbsp; LDN list off and on because I wanted >to <BR> >put my son on it. & nbsp; Unfortunately, my dr. won't write the Rx so I ><BR> >wasn't able to pursue that unless I made it at home, which I didn't ><BR> >end up doing.<BR> ><BR> >Lots of people see some pretty crazy things when starting LDN. & nbsp; >I <BR> >personally wouldn't try to start it anywhere close to doing a viral ><BR> >protocol. & nbsp; However, if people have the time, I think it is a >great <BR> >thing to have in place for a few months before starting a viral <BR> >protocol. & nbsp; It makes sense to me to try to boost the compromised ><BR> >immune system as much as possible so that the body can fight the <BR> >viruses as fiercely as it can. & nbsp; Since you are already on the ><BR> >Valtrex, my feeling would be to start with either the OLE or the VS, ><BR> >and then add in the other one in another short time.<BR> ><BR> >Your understanding of what I will do with the VS (taper down, etc) ><BR> >is my understanding too. & nbsp; :-)<BR> ><BR> >Thanks for letting me know that my posts are helping you. & nbsp; It is ><BR> >hard to know what matters sometimes.<BR> ><BR> >Anita<BR> ><BR> ><BR> ><BR> ><BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt;<BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; My son weighs 34 pounds. & nbsp; >Right now he <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; is on 36 VS a day, along with the adult dose of >Lauricidin (3 <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; scoops). & nbsp; We are not finished our >protocol. & nbsp; <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; Hi Anita,<BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; I am trying to read up on the VS protocol and >educate myself <BR> >more <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; about it. & nbsp; If you don't mind, can I ask how you >decided on a <BR> >dose of <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; 36 VS per day for your son? & nbsp; Is this the >plateau that <BR> >speaks <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; about in her website? & nbsp; The reason I ask is that >I thought I had <BR> >read <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; that most people maxed out at 20-25VS per day, so I >was <BR> >surprised to <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; read about a dosage in the 30's. & nbsp; I was >wondering if you are <BR> >also <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; giving OLE along with the VS, and if not, is that >the reason why <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; your dosage is so high? or did your son's individual >response <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; indicate that the dosage needed to go this >high? & nbsp; If you find <BR> >the <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; time, I'd be very interested in learning more about >your <BR> >particular <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; AV protocol.<BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; Thanks so much and Happy Mother's Day,<BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt; Sheryl<BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp; & gt;<BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; <BR> > & gt; & nbsp; & nbsp;
Guest guest
Anita, You are the best. I just talked to a gentleman named Barton. He recommended trying ginger with the VS (introducing the ginger first to make sure it is tolerated). He said that might be enough to help the belly. He also said it has nice anti-inflammatory properties.... Looks like I have my next research project sketched out..... Anne > > > > > > > > My son weighs 34 pounds. Guest guest
, My son just turned 3 and can't swallow pills. He gags it down mixed into a bit of yogurt. You know, I think there are more many ways to address viruses. It might be a good idea to build up slowly and continue over a long period of time. No one knows for sure. But when I spoke to at Enzymedica, he did say that even one or two VS a day would be working on the problems. You are most certainly not wasting your time and effort. Maybe one day you will have to ramp up the doses to quite high levels, but this process seems very individual. I would be working on boosting your son's immune system during this process. Lots of the immune boosters are easy to dose, thankfully. Anita > > Anita, > > Good heavens that is a lot of VS. How on earth are you getting that in him, does he swallow pills? We are having to mix ours with applesauce and so far we can manage to get one in a day...which seems piddling compared with what you guys are doing...I wonder if one will even help us...we are doing 7 drops of OLE three times a day (the full dose based on body weight), we are mixing with a sorbet and having luck getting him to take it. > > >
Guest guest
Hello Sheryl, The only IBs I rotate are the echinacea and the astragalus root because they work best in shorts bursts and because they serve the same function. I don't use the IP6 all the time, because it can lower certain minerals in the body, but I do like it for it NK cell effect. I also use higher doses of C, and then all the regulars like zinc. I use colostrum every day as well. I buy the one from Kirkman's although I don't like to use the flavouring, but it at least is easy to dose and I don't see giving it forever. There is a list of immune boosters in the viral file I placed at A-M and enzymes and autism. I hope this helps. :-) Anita > > Hi again Anita, > > Would you mind sharing the immune boosters that you are using for your son? Also, do you rotate them on a monthly basis? > > Thanks. > Sheryl >
