You're most welcome Natasa :-) My comments are interspersed.

> VS - does it have a strong taste?

Not really, but once you start getting into the larger doses it does

of course get harder to dose. Right now my son is taking 18 a day.

I never thought we'd get that high. There is another sort of

industrial strength VS that I wish I'd known about before I bought

all the regular strength. I believe it is twice as strong, but I

don't know how it might taste.

> Lauricidin - does it have a strong taste?

You're not supposed to chew Lauricidin. If you do, yuck! My son

swallows them no problem though. Because you start so low, with

maybe three pellets a day (and they are very small) you child will

likely get used to swallowing them if you can hide them in something

like a thick yogurt or pudding. My son swallows about 90 a day

right now. I am amazed that my son now does understand when he's

getting a " yucky " and will put up with it. If you'd have asked me 6

months ago if this would have been possible I would have laughed or

cried, depending on the day. The good thing is if this stuff starts

working, then the dosing can get easier.

> Astragalus - does it have a strong taste?

I use a liquid. It does have alcohol in it, but I had to consider

ease of dosing. It kind of has an earthy taste to it, easy to hide

in the Sambucol.

> Candex - does it have a strong taste?

Not really. Easy to mix into the fresh cheese I use. The good

thing is you don't have to go very high with the Candex. Most

people would start with just a part of a capsule and see how it goes

from there.

Oh, I hear you! My husband and I end up taking all the leftovers.

It's done us some good. :-)

Excellent news. I read your post at LDN :-).

Unfortunately, I've not used or talked to anyone who has used any of

these things you mention, other than the lysine. Again, had

an interesting post on lysine at enzymes and autism not too long

ago, as to why it might work for the herpes virus. I do remember

that Dr. JM was pretty big on some mushroom supps. I'd have to

check her book.

I keep thinking that there must be a group for some other

medical problem where these things are discussed regularly. It

would be great if we could access the knowledge of some other group

of people not in the autism world.

Or, we're just have to blaze the trail. I did try the VS on myself

and do seem to have some viral issues. When I get organized, I

might order some of the other stuff and take some to see what

happens. It's just that I'm the picture of health compared to my

son, so even these experiments don't tell me much. If I do run

across anything helpful in regard to any of these, I'll share it

here :-)

Take care,

Anita

I use garlic, fresh pressed, but my son swallows capsules, so I put the

pressed garlic in empty capsules before giving it to him.

I had noticed for years that garlic was doing something to my son. It

has so many properties that I thought it was either because of yeast,

parasites, inflammation, or high sulfur. I end up thinking it is beause

of the anti-viral properties. I got some rashes out just with garlic.

Rashes that look very similar to what people see with Virasop/OLE.

I now use garlic/VS/OLE and I might add Valtrex in a few weeks.

We also used to give crushed garlic, hid it in cherry tomatos, worked

well for a couple of months until ds figured out something was in there

:) Also saw some viral signs, rosy cheeks, more agressive, yeast

problems etc. Now we have to wait a couple of years until he can swallow

capsules :(

You can also phone Enzymedica. This is what de Felice said to

do in her write-up about the VS studies. If you phoned them it

might actually be closer to the VS we're using now, except, of

course, stronger. I don't understand enzymes well enough to know

the difference between the two products, if there is a difference.

If you do happen to use either of these, I would be very happy to

hear about what happens.

Thanks,

Anita
