I remember as a child, my mom recording herself on tape, reading a story to me. She taped herself, and me reacting as a means of saving the moments for the future, however I listened a lot to it as a child, it brought me comfort.

Perhaps this could help save you some reading? do one really nice reading on tape, and have it available at the push of a button?

My son, who is 9 this week ;o), ASD, loves getting different books on tape from the library, he can play them over and over, and follow along in the book.
