Guest guest
Minnesota SF 147 is the bill sponsored by Senator Nienow that would make it legal for farmers to deliver raw milk to the consumers and at farmers markets. The companion house bill HF 255 is sponsored by Rep . Neither says anything about vegetables. Here is a link to the text of SF 147 https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bin/bldbill.php?bill=S0147.0.html & session=ls87 > > Does anyone know about a bill that a Minnesota senator is trying to get passed or did get passed. > I just got off the phone with a friend who said that it would make it against the law to sell vegs. you have grown. > Also said something about raw milk. > Hopefully some one on this list knows how to look it up. > Don Prohaska > BuckSnort s > http://BuckSnorts.tripod.com > >
Guest guest
This is the bill that improves access to raw milk in Minnesota, and has nothing to do with vegetables. The bill in the Senate is SF147 and in the House is HF255. It removes the old 1940s " at the farm " requirement, allowing greater freedom of delivery options from the farmer to the consumer. Raw milk is a legal food in Minnesota, and this simply enhances access to it. The current restriction creates hardships for both farmers and consumers, and it is wasteful, unwise and impractical (if not impossible) to have many city consumers drive long distances each week for farm-fresh raw milk. Please let your friend and others know about this wonderful bill, and encourage them to contact their legislators (senator and house rep at the state level, not national level) and the governor to ask them to support it. So glad you asked! I hope this clarifies things. -Beth
