Guest guest
OOOOHHHH, I am not TEACHING my son Latin, I am learning it myself. There is no way would learn Latin, he barely knows English. I just needed something that gave my mind a work out, since I've been in 1st grade curriculum for going on 3 years now..... Have you seen this CD rom: " Latin Now! " by Transparent Language? I got it for my DH because he does some language origin work sometimes and I thought he'd enjoy it. It's pretty neat- I can't remember if I ordered it or found it on a sale shelf someplace. It sure makes it more interesting. I have an Italian language CD-rom that I have looked at for fun and this thing plays back an audiograph of your voice- to see if it matches the voice pattern of the teacher so as to get feedback if you are pronouncing the words correctly. You are amazing! Happy Autumn, all! MB Beth, The CD sounds great. I will keep my eyes opened for it. We bought 51 languages of the world CD because my 9 year old wants to learn how to say hello in as many languages as she can. Strange hobby! LOL My 9 year old can carry on a conversation in Polish and would probably do better if I just gave her the teachers manual for Latin and left her alone! LOL I agree with Beth. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!! But we are not giving up. Well, if you count the one prayer our church does in Latin every week, then they are learning it! I am pretty proud of the fact that they know that one! And they can do aobut 1/2 of the " Lord's Prayer " in Latin. I think once this year settles a little, we will get to it more. We'll see. LOL My sons have to take THREE years of Latin at their school, and I couldn't tell you one thing about it!!!!! DH gets the job of helping with that. OR, my wonderful BIL across the street, who knows it well. So far, n, currently a freshman, is taking to it better than our first son did. Guest guest
Guess I'm just not used to compliments. 's home therapist calls me a renasaence woman. I don't feel that I do anything anyone else can't do. I like to quilt, when I have time, I create most of 's learning aids, just because I can't afford to buy them. I get that from my dad, he can do anything. He makes knives, is an electrician, mechanic (BC - before computers), can fix practically anything and is really good with what we call Southern Ingenuity. Man, too many big words first thing in the morning. Hope my spell check gets them all. Guest guest
Well, I get a break there, DH cooks. I do the dishes. At night, since he goes to bed after I do (I'm pooped at 9:30 or so, and he's up till 11), he does the last minute straightening up. I haven't quilted in a long time, either. When I was Sunday school teacher for the Bed babies (birth until 18 months), since there isn't a lot of curriculum, I mad all my babies quilts. Keep in mind I only had 6, though, small church.
