I am so sorry. I'm with you, they should have notified the parents. Even if it

was emergency surgery, they had some notice because she had to call and say she

wasn't coming in. You go get 'em!

Oh Leah! (((((HUGE HUGS))))) Poor baby! Bet when he does go and if he has

a rough time they will of course blame you. What a stupid thing to do! And

that school where the Mom tied her chair to a flag pole was worried about

what THAT would do to the kindergarten kids? Think I would rather explain

that boys Mother loved him enough to do that than to explain to my kid that

his teacher/school didn't care enough about him to be courteous and make

other arrangements! These schools are sure proving their ignorance this year

aren't they?

Poor Cameron! Geez, Leah, it's always something, isn't it? If the teacher's

surgery was an emergency and they had no time to get a hold of all the

parents of the 18 kids, you'd think they would have at least put a sign on

the door explaining the situation. How rude! Hope he gets over his

disappointment soon and that they find a good sub for the class. Take care,

okay guys...today was open house for my five year old cameron for kindy

orientation..... we spruce him up, comb his hair, wears his best jean

shorts, and his cool pokemon school shirt(his choice)!! well hes been so

excited for soooooooooo long.... we learned how to write teachers name and

his room number to impress her...... we get to the school, go to his room

#31, the lights are out, door locked, NO DAMN TEACHER..... i knock, no

answer, we wait five minutes as the other kids run down hall laughing,

greeting and sharing their good fortune.....no teacher.....i am thinking

maybe shes peeing or something....we wait five more minutes no teacher, so

we go ask the teacher down the hall " where is mrs. williams " she replied mrs

williams had surgery and they dont know when she'll be back......REAL F-ING

GREAT!!! cameron starts crying and says between gulps and tears " this is the

most awfullest, ruinest day of my whole life, i wanna die like bambis

mommy'!!! what do you do!!! i started crying, picked him up and walked

out....i even asked if mcdonalds would make it better and he said nothing

would ever make him happy again..... i feel like the fly shit off the wall

that is ten years old... i don't know what to do...i am going to call and

bitch at the office tomorrow......they should have had the COURTESY to call

and let the parents know, there is only 18 in the damn class.....needless to

say the poor kid whimpered himself to sleep and has decided he is NEVER

going to school..... so i am beyond anger cause my baby is hurting..... this

was sucha big deal to him.....anyways, thanks for letting me vent....... tc

I am STUNNED!!!!! This is absolutely outrageous!!!!! I say call the

other parents in Cam's class and make a HUGE stink about this!!! Write a

letter also and send it to the district. Let them know how hard it was for

you to calm Cameron down. Kindy is a HUGE deal!!!! How terrible that they

did this!!!!!! All I have to say is when this teacher finally gets herself

back in the classroom, she better be best teacher on the planet!!!

big bear hugs to cameron and you, i know it may not help at this time, and

that school should have said something earlier, its very imprtant for our

kids to have positive transitions to new events if i was local i would call

and b---- them out too.
