Guest guest
a, Brook is always very thirsty also. Maybe this is his problem too. I haven't really noticed if he is a mouth breather or not. I have been wondering why he gets sooo thirsty all the time. He isn't all that great at eating but what he does eat is often salty. He eats lots of cheese, turkey, crackers, bread, cheese puffs everyday. I'm sure that type of diet is also making him very thirsty too. HIs preferred drink is milk. Our big problem is that he wants to dump out his drinks all the time. He can drink from an open cup, but we can't let him without having our hands on the cup, because he will dump out the contents of the cup. He has a water obsession and can't resist pouring out drinks. This had been lots of fun for me lately, since he has been out of school and has been bored and is getting into more of this. He has been going into the refrigerator lately and getting drinks out. Then he drinks some and pours some out and spits the rest out of his mouth for fun!! This morning we discovered that yesterday he had helped himself to some strawberries that were in the fridge. This means he squished them and spread them on the living room sofa and trailed them here and there all over the place. DH is gone for business this week so I am just about going nuts with him getting into everything all day long. Also just to make my self crazy I decided to paint my 13 year olds bedroom today. Not a rational thing to do. I just can't wait for school to start so I can have some peace with just my little one at home. Guest guest
Marrisa, Matt, too, used to dump his drink EVERYTIME he had one. Now, it is only when we are not sitting at a table. But he does put things into drinks, onto plates, and into serving bowls. For instance, his fork will end up in the mashed potatoes. It is really funny to see our dinner table. It is large, and we do have 7-8 people eating. All the food is shoved to one end, and there is a large clear space around Matt. He puts bread into his and other people's drinks. Just something he seems to " need " to do. When Brook does is Strawberry painting, does he come and tell you immediately? Matt does. He has had a thing lately for tomatoes. He picks them up, squishes them and throws them hard on the floor, then come and says " mom, c'mere " and points to the mess! The other day, he threw a honeydew melon on the floor and it broke in two. I understand what you are saying about ready to send him back to school! And I have " help " here in the form of older sibs. (Matt's not mine) S ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Try it today - there's no risk! Guest guest
and Donna and ALL, Brook is nonverbal and he has never shown me anything. He just doesn't relate to people that way. No, he just makes big messes and then he continues on his way without a thought in the world whether he should or shouldn't be doing it. And yes Donna strawberries are really tough stain to get out. I had arm covers on the one chair he smeared which I had sewn on since he always flings them off 5 times a day. I had to cut the stitches off, spray them with spray and wash and then wash and now I have to sew them back on. The chair had to be scrubbed also with spray and wash. All because I bought strawberries. Of course he does the same thing with any fruit he can find. Lately we have to feed him PB & J or he squishes it all up on his plate. Well, I'm running out for more paint. Marisa Mom to Miles, Brook and Gennie

LOL We never have a cushion on any chairs or couch. They are always thrown on the floor. I think Seth thinks that is his job around the house. LOL If it has a cushion, it must be taken off, if it stands erect, it must be tipped over, if it is supposed to be open-he must close it, if it's supposed to be closed-he must open it! I feel like stripping the rooms bare and not dealing with all that stuff anymore! LOL What a kid! All cushions on the floor for drumming practice. I just got a new couch and love seat, and the #1 priority for the thing was that it had attached back cushions, so the only thing that could be removed were the seat cushions. In looking for our couch, I explained to many salespeople that it MUST have a minimal number of loose cushions, and I know they thought I was nuts. After all, what is wrong with us that we can't just make these kids keep the cushions on the couches/chairs. By the way, we kept the old cushions and they are in a pile on the floor, just for drumming!
