Guest guest
thanks for the update. "Bring it on!" I say. Heidi From: " " <dkirby@...>Reply-EOHarm To: <eoharm >CC: "' '" <dkirby@...>Subject: Movie newsDate: Fri, 8 Dec 2006 13:49:28 -0500 Hello, and a very happy holiday season to everyone. I thought we might want to put politics aside for a moment to say “Hooray for Hollywood.” I spoke last night with EOH Producer Ross Bell, (who produced Fight Club, by the way), who told me that the first draft of the screenplay is beginning to take shape, and he hopes to have a completed first draft in very early 2007. Once that is finished, the script will go to Participant Productions for notes and review, and I will get to see a copy as well (!!) The next step, Ross said, is to hire the director, before any work is done on revisions (makes sense to me). Once the director is hired (and I have a few personal favorites I am rooting for) then the whole project “goes public.” Bottom line, look for a MAJOR announcement in the media sometime before the winter is over. Even just the ANNOUNCEMENT of this movie should make some waves. I am so grateful for Participant Productions. I know that they have been contacted by people who are “extremely concerned” that this movie is being made. I bet they are! All best
Guest guest
Congratulations ! , I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to this subject. The book was a tremendous eye-opener for many who were previously unaware of this issue. It continues to serve our community as a marvelous awareness tool. The movie will also have tremendous positive impact. I am grateful for the added awareness you, the book and the movie brings to this issue as it makes our job a little easier when we attempt to explain what happened to our children to legislators and the public at large.Since Hollywood doen't like to make movies without an "ending" I was wondering how they were going to handle that for Evidence of Harm movie since this is still an ongoing battle. Isn't it convenient for movie making purposes that CAA passed...now the movie has an "ending!" Caveat: Unfortunately, our real lives and the lives of our children are not as tidy as a Hollywood movie so there is still much work to be done. No amount slick PR spin will alter the fact that the CAA is a terribly flawed and almost worthless piece of legislation in the true fight against "autism." However, we must all find a way to pull together again to complete our mission to insure that our children obtain justice and the highest possible quality of life and health, in spite of the CAA and those organizations that pushed its passage. , we look forward to more updates on the movie. Again, congratulations and we wish you continued progress and good luck on the movie endeavor. Guest guest
Since I can't get through the book (too painful!) -- maybe I'll get through the movie -- I say it ends with photos of all kids with Autism! Unforuntately, this would take hours! > > > > Hello, and a very happy holiday season to everyone. > > > > I thought we might want to put politics aside for a moment to say > > " Hooray for Hollywood. Guest guest
If there are people that are “extremely concerned†about this film, then Godspeed be with this movie! Guest guest
Remember the end of Schindler's List where everyone placed a stone on the grave? I'd love to see the EOH credit roll play out with each actor/actress hugging their direct relative, or close friend, suffering from autism so EVERYONE can make that personal connection, and be reminded, that we are ALL effected. -- In EOHarm , " dpowell605 " <POWDER914@...> wrote: > > Since I can't get through the book (too painful!) -- maybe I'll get > through the movie -- I say it ends with photos of all kids with > Autism! Guest guest
, I also really hope that the movie will make clear that mercury is NOT out of all the vaccines! The fight continues . . . Guest guest
And the 1 in 6 children with neurological impairment, who are not considered to be on the spectrum, but by chance suffer a lesser fate from the same causes. My child has never qualified for an autism label, but I'm not blind to the fact that my child is darned close. My best info comes from the autism community. When you widen the focus from autism to other neurological disorders, now you're talking about 1:6 rather than 1:166. How powerful is that? Didn't the studies actually show an even higher correlation between mercury and speech disorder than mercury and autism? Autism is just the more extreme outcome. We parents of neurologically impaired kids need to stick together. The autism community needs to educate parents of LD and ADHD and speech disordered kids that this is all the same thing, but it shows itself to different degrees due to the crud load at that time period and the luck of genetics! So let's not limit this discussion to children meeting the man-made DSM definition, and talk about neurological impairment all around. > > And please, , don't let them forget about the older kids, like my 26-yr. old! > > Have you read his book yet? > > Barb > Movie news > > > > Hello, and a very happy holiday season to everyone. > > > > I thought we might want to put politics aside for a moment to say " Hooray for Hollywood. Guest guest
This is fantastic news, thank you so much . I was just sitting beside the window, watching my husband try to work with our son on the trampoline. As I read your movie news, he was screaming alternately with gutteral growls while banging himself in the head--- all the while the 5-6 " typical " 6 year olds on the block were snickering around the corner. It is moments like this that I want to just sit down and cry, for my family, but mostly for HIM. His childhood, and possibly his life, have been taken from him. Your book/movie is a HUGE part of what keeps alot of us going. The hope that in the near future, the truth will be known. Thank you is not even enough.
