Guest guest
Agreed. Good presentation, especially at Fox News Channel, that until recently, has given short shrift to this issue. Manny's presentation was helpful. Foxnews Dr. Manny "Dr. Manny obviously "gets it". Sure, I wish he would have come out and said "I think thimerosal causes autism", but I assume the FOX folks would have pulled his segment. What do you expect Dr. Manny to do in a 2 minute piece? He mentions a possible link to vaccines, early behavioal therapy, gluten casein free diet, vitamin b6 and folic acid treatment. He did not come out and say:1. The rates have soared because we, as doctors, are so much better now at identifying the condition.2. The IOM has said there is no link between vaccines and autism.3. Several well designed studies have concluded their is no link between vaccines and autism.4. Some desparate, loony, scientifically illiterate litigant parents have said vaccines cause autism. This blurb was a good one. What do you think Bazell or Dr. 's autism awareness month piece would look like" You are RIGHT!!!!!! If nothing else, Dr. Manny has already advanced the ball far downfield by ignoring all the old cliches that Dr. Offitt has been spewing for decades now. Guest guest
I got it to play, but I had to get to the Foxnews website and then search for same. I found it and then played it. I originally through it was my videoplayer, but turned out to have been the url. The piece was very helpful. To have the rather stern anti-tort Foxnews people warming up to the issue is a big deal. There was a piece last week or two which also shows they are warming up to the issue. Certainly better than any of the others. Foxnews Dr. Manny "Dr. Manny obviously "gets it". Guest guest
hi rmoffi - forgive me if I borrow one of your favourite euphemisms - " sock puppets " - and stick it in here - no other useful comment on my part - I just feel it really deserves to live in any thread that references Bazell and/or . Dr Manny good, media bad. But maybe this is a sign of their recognition that there's a big storm a-comin'... -randy > > " Dr. Manny obviously " gets it " . Guest guest
I have no idea how to personally contact him. You can try your hand with his FOX NEWS MAILBAG. drmanny@... By the way, here is an interesting answer from his mailbag: Q: I received a flu shot two weeks ago and have not felt well since. Did the flu shot make me sick? A: You are not going to get sick from the typical flu shot because it is an inactive vaccine, not a live vaccine. You can have a reaction from the shot that typically occurs one or two days after receiving the shot. Some people, however, have allergies. One example is an egg allergy. Some flu vaccines do contain small amounts of egg product. If you think you are allergic to eggs, tell your doctor, and you can be given a skin test to see if you would be allergic to the vaccine. People who have allergies should be very aware of possible reactions any time they take a medication and discuss it with their doctors. Foxnews Dr. Manny "Dr. Manny obviously "gets it". Guest guest
I watched Dr. Manny a few weeks ago say he thought that dental amalgam were safe -had been used for years and years, blah, blah but still you should ask your dentist about them. tmiktliu <rtoni@...> wrote: hi rmoffi - forgive me if I borrow one of your favourite euphemisms -"sock puppets" - and stick it in here - no other useful comment on mypart - I just feel it really deserves to live in any thread thatreferences Bazell and/or .Dr Manny good, media bad.
