How old are you? I was 25 when i got pregnant and 26 when i had him.

I didn't get night sweats so unfortunately i cant help you there.

What I did get was my let would either fall asleep or swell. MDA

wanted to biopsy to which i told them no. My regular OBGYN told me to

just lay down and put my legs up because that was where the baby was

sitting and i just needed to get the pressure off my leg. MDA also

wanted to do an amniocentesis to which I also told them no. (they

cant do anything about it til the baby is born so i saw no reason for

it and they were beginning to make me feel like a guinee pig. My

regular OBGYN never even suggested it.) My regular OBGYN also thought

that I should go for natural child birth (after 8 months of agreeing

it should be a C- section lol) To which I also said no to and I will

tell you why. Because our back is pretty much all we have when the

legs and arms go and an epidural could really mess our back up even

more than it already is. It can paralize a " normal " person and at the

very least cause major migrains for the rest of their lives. To also

have it naturally causes more stress on our already stressed bodies.

Which would greatly increase the chance for pneumonia or worse. MDA

also told me it would take an hour and a half to deliver the baby and

sew me back up and so on. My regular OBGYN was very adamant about the

fact that the anaesthesia should not reach the baby. Because it isnt

good for them. He said the C-section should take no more than ten

minutes. And it didnt. Also the longer you are under the worse it is

for you as well. He put me out at 12:15 and my son was born at 12:18

and I was awake at 12:25. My son was born healthy as can be. I am a

big believer in NOT letting your doctor talk you into anything your

gut says no to. This of course is just my personal opinion and

experience. How ever i would love to hear about other peoples

birthing experiences. Good like to you in which ever you deside

Look to your mother and other direct female relatives to get an idea if " night

sweats " are pregnancy related.

However, just as a precaution, you may need to find out if the baby is

interferring with your breathing at night. Night sweats, feeling cold (feet,

hands, torso are signs of poor oxygen intake) and frequent wakening at night

are also Sleep Apnea symptoms.

My SMA 1-2 girlfriend had two sons and both were C-sections.

I did try to deliver my daughter normally but after 18 hours of labor, I did

have a C- section. My problem with the normal delivery was my daughter was

stuck behind the pelvic bone. The problem had nothing to do with my ability to

use my muscles to push during labor. Good luck!

Ok i'm now 25 weeks n me and baby are doing really great! The only real

problem i'm having at night are major night sweats!! The only time i'd

get them was when i would be in the hospital sick with nemonia. i

haven't been really sick in like 5 years. So one of my questions is...

is did any or all of you get night sweats n how bad were they n is

there anything i can do to uhhh not get them or not get them as bad??

Right now i get them so bad they make me cry. I wake up more the 4

times a night dripping and i try to only wae my boyfriend up 2 of those

times cuz i know he's tired cuz i wake him up to move n turn me. i'm

soooooo tired and its getting really cold at nigh so when he takes the

blankets off me to dry off i feel like im gonna go into hyperthermia!!!

My other question is, have any of you had a regular birth?? My OB wants

to try for a regular birth n i met with a perinatologist n he didn't

see anything to disagree. If any of you have had a regular birth how

did they administer the epidural? i have spinal rods n cant hunch my

back. Did any of you start off trying for a vaginal birth and ended up

having to have a c-section?? Well those are a few of my question..

thanks!!!

they decided to trake me i begged for another chance to try to breath

on my own and thank goodness i did it. :o) my hip and back hurt but i

just lean to releave the presure. but thank you so much for all ur

info!! i love all the feed back about this!! i don feel so alone cuz

no matter what the females share they just dont uderstand any of

great!!! now what i really wanna know about this is... when u started

to have give birth vaginaly did u start off in a labor and delivery

room or did they put u in the c-section room to prepare for a just in

case c-section?? the reason im asking is cuz my boyfriend and i are

touring 2 hospitals. we toured 1 already and there procedure for a

average woman pregnant with twins who will be " trying " for a vaginal

delivery is they put them in the c-section room so that just in case

a c-section needs to be done they have her there already and no time

is waisted to get her there. i had asked the person giving the tour

if that would be the case for me but she didnt know. so im here

asking the pros lol ;o)

I'm sorry I don't have a clear answer to your question. I feel a little silly

as I don't really know if the room I was in was considered a c-section room or

not. I started out in a room where they scheduled my labor to be induced.

Shortly after they induced my water broke and labor started. I'm sorry I don't

know if I was moved to a C-section room or not. It was 15 years ago- I guess

some of the details are fuzzy. It sounds like you and your boyfriend are well

prepared. I'm sure you will do great. Take care

I may not have any right too reply to this as I have not had a child

of my own but what I do have a lot of verying experiences is the

Spinal side.

It is possible to find gaps in the spinal column if they have any MRI

or CT scans of your spine prior to you getting pregnant (I am not

suggesting doing it now for obvius reasons). I know this as I have had

a fusion of bone and metal work and still have 2 gaps at L3 and T1

regions.

Having injections into the spine is risky but then so was having a

spinal fusion; it is about waying up the risks as your consultant has

given you his/her advice I am sure. Yes, it is possible to get a small

leak of spinal fluid but if this happens the Drs are likely to one

tell you to lie flat for a couple of weeks too see if the leak seals

itself or they may offer what is called a blood patch. A blood patch

is taking some of your blood from an arm and then injecting it into

your spine like an epidural.

This is usually effective within a matter of hours as the blood clots

over the leak and forms a scab which then allow the Dura to heal.

I had this proceedure done when I had a tear in my dura during spinal

surgery. It is effective and painless (compared to child birth I

expect).

So good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy and I hope the night

sweats stop for you.

All the best Vivien

Hello,

I am 9 weeks pregnant and I have had trouble controlling my temperature almost

my whole pregnancy so far. The only thing I found that somewhat worked for me

is to drink a lot of ice cold water throughout the day and keep a fan on me at

night (even though I do have the covers on). It doesn't go away totally but I

only wake up about once a night now from feeling sick from being over-heated.

I have rods in my back as well and my OB said that I cannot have an epidural.

She was unable to find the actual vertebra's on me which she said is necessary

for the epidural. I will be having a c-section because I cannot deliver more

than a 3 lb baby vaginally (and we definetly want a bigger baby! :)) so I will

have to go under general.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. You are much further ahead of me so

I'd appreciate your experiences!

Good luck!
