Dear Chandra,

Thanksomuch for the warm welcome. We live in SW Michigan, lol, and you're

right, the days are finally getting longer.

I had my first veggie ckick'n burger for lunch today, lol. I've never been

much of a red meat eater (except when I was on Atkins, arrggghhhhh!). The

grocery was out of turkey burgers yesterday, so I decided to try veggie

burgers. I eat organic as much as possible, but it is quite a challenge to

locate organic fruit and vegetables here in Michigan in the winter, lol.

We don't have any gyms in our immediate area, and I'm unsure if I'd feel

comfortable in that environment anyway. We have a Curves nearly, and I

tried it out for one month, but it just didn't provide me with a challenging

workout. We spent the past several months turning our 4th BR into a home

work out room. We have stationery bikes. a Body Solid home gym, as well as

a rebounder and full set of free weights. We also have a couple of body

bars, and a free standing bench. All I need is the discipline to hit that

room every day, and I need learn the most effective exercises for each body

part. I'm also looking to expand my knowledge of vitamins and supplements.

I do not take medications (yes, I'm one of those who believes the drug

companies, and many doctors are pushers, lol). I've been on a mission to

find a good supplement for my knees. I tried Joint Assure Plus for 9 months

and unfortunately, I didn't experience any improvement in my condition. I

just began using CosaminDS today. I also realize that removing some of this

weight will improve my condition.

I am very excited to be here and am learning so much from the " old-timers "

and " new-timers " in the group. Everyone is so helpful here.

hugz,

Life Women's Club] Re: Anyone starting Monday, Feb.13th?

Welcome Lyn. I'm sure you will have a great journey this 12 weeks.

I'm starting challenge #2 today in hopes to see a great 6 pack by

May 8th, 12 weeks from now. I think this next challenge will even

be easier since the days will be getting longer and warmer. I'll be

able to do the more activities outside which I greatly prefer. The

gym is fine for a while, but I really prefer to run on a trail by

the lake and bike out in the country around our house. I also

really prefer riding my show horses outside rather than in an indoor

arena. The horses seem to prefer it too. It was a really nice day

yesterday, about 30F and sunny with about 5 inches of snow on the

ground so I took my horse on a little trail ride through the woods

and along the pasture fence line next to the woods. It was nice to

see the sun again. I live in mid-Michigan, so sunlight during the

winter is rare.

Keep us up to date on your progress.
