Guest guest
Dear Joni, Thanksomuch for the link to DietPower! I've downloaded it, and I look forward to using it. I also want to thank you for the other links you shared. I'm gonna check those out as well. lyn C1W1D2 -- Re: Alternative to Fitday > My sister and I find Fitday tedious....to find the items that we > use. What alternative online programs do you use? DietPower is a good one - you can try it for free and then can purchase a key to keep it: http://www.dietpower.com/ Has a few more perks than FitDay, plus you can customize it more. > Does anyone use an old-fashioned book of nutrient info?> > I used to use the usda database..... it is linked to a log book > anywhere? Like Fitday, but using the USDA database? I think the one at CalorieKing is linked to the USDA database - have a look: http://www.calorieking.com/software/ I have often just kept a random written food journal or a list of foods in a computer doc - if you are just wanting to know calories and basic protein/carbs/fats its easy to do as just about all your foods have nutritional labels these days. Anything else you can look up at the CaloriKing website above or at one of these sites: An easy ABC list of common foods: http://www.ntwrks.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm Or another searchable database: http://www.nutri-facts.com/index.php joni ------------------------------------ *If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.*- Hippocrates c. 460 - 377 B.C.
