Guest guest
Chandra, Was reading this post and had to do a double take! I live in mid Michigan, too. Now being from " mid Michigan " I know what a broad area that is! LOL. I am in Gladwin. Where are you located? -- ~~Newbie Intro - today is my first day, woo-HOOOOOOOO Re: [body for Life Women's Club] Re: Anyone starting Monday, Feb.13th? Welcome Lyn. I'm sure you will have a great journey this 12 weeks. I'm starting challenge #2 today in hopes to see a great 6 pack by May 8th, 12 weeks from now. I think this next challenge will even be easier since the days will be getting longer and warmer. I'll be able to do the more activities outside which I greatly prefer. The gym is fine for a while, but I really prefer to run on a trail by the lake and bike out in the country around our house. I also really prefer riding my show horses outside rather than in an indoor arena. The horses seem to prefer it too. It was a really nice day yesterday, about 30F and sunny with about 5 inches of snow on the ground so I took my horse on a little trail ride through the woods and along the pasture fence line next to the woods. It was nice to see the sun again. I live in mid-Michigan, so sunlight during the winter is rare. Keep us up to date on your progress. Chandra > > G'Morning all! Guest guest
Funny, my sister lives in vermontville, MI and I'm from Lansing. I get there A LOT lately because my dad had a cardiac issue that ended him in a nursing home. I stay with my sister in Vermontville. My sister raises Australian Shepherds and is currently at Westminster in NY. Small world! Guest guest
Very cool! I'll have to check with my mom and see if my aunt is at Westminster this week. My aunt raises Huskies, Papillons and Chinese Crested and also judges many AKC shows out in CA. Her name is Sue Nickles. I don't show dogs, but am very involved with showing Arabian horses, I ride nearly everyday. I used to show cats with my mom, a Havanna Brown, Oriental Shorthair, and a Turkish Van. My 3 dogs, one purebred lab and two lab mixes are just couch potatoes and sometimes keep me company out in the barn while I clean stalls. They like to chase the mice in the barn and irritate the horses. I've never been to Wisconsin, but I've worked for a guy who comes to the yearly to the Michigan Horse Council Stallion Expo at MSU in March who lives in Manitowoc, WI. Do you listen to Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor? Seems to me a lot of mid-western folk listen to his radio show on public radio. I've gone to a live broadcast of his. I love the show and try to catch it on Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons if we are on a long drive or I'm outside doing chores and I listen to it on my MP3 player that has a radio. He's coming to Milwaukee on Feb 18. It's a live broadcast also. He tells the best stories about life. My family is Scandinavian and Lutheran so the stories are so true to heart. My grandfather came from Denmark and spoke fluent Danish but never taught the language to my aunt or father. I guess it was a bad thing to be a immigrant at the time and speak anything but english. http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/schedule/ if you are interested. It's a very enjoyable program. Take a walk and listen to it on your portable radio, it will make the time fly. Chandra > > >Hi , > >I'm from ton, MI, about 20 miles southeast of Lansing, right > >off of I-96. Guest guest
I love PHC. of course!! I'm jealous of your horses. We had horses growing up, kept them in Vermontville. Guest guest
Hi, I have been playing with BFL since this summer, I have just seriously started my first challenge last week! I am excited and ready to see some changes in the old bod! Wow! MSU,eh? My dream school, one day... I may head down there for my doctorate. We'll see. I have been to ton a couple of times. Once to do some antiquing and once to look at some sheep! Small world, huh? I just love Gladwin, have Amish for next door neighbors! We live out in the boonies! Of course, it is way to close to civiliazation for my dh! Nice to see another Michigander here! -- ~~Newbie Intro - today is my first day, woo-HOOOOOOOO Re: [body for Life Women's Club] Re: Anyone starting Monday, Feb.13th? Hi , I'm from ton, MI, about 20 miles southeast of Lansing, right off of I-96. I work at Michigan State University. I've been to Gladwin a few times. My friend has a cabin(it's really a house, but you know how us Michigander's like to to call the second house that are " up north " cabins) on a lake up there and also they have a farm where they kept a few of there horses. The horses aren't there anymore as one of them lives at my house and the others were sold after her grandfather past away last year, but they visit the cabin fairly often. It's very nice in Gladwin, I always have a good time there. I like seeing all the Amish houses and buggies. There aren't that many Amish in this area, more south towards Vermontville and near the Indiana border. How long have you been doing BFL? Have you had good results? Chandra > > > > G'Morning all!
