Guest guest
Mel, This was brought up on the Go Heavy forum, and this article was found to be a phony. It was created on April Fools Day. I am not for sure on this, but there were several people who claimed that this article was indeed a joke. Did anyone else hear of this? [it seems as if we will have to ask Bud Charniga, who put this on his site as a serious article. Whatever the facts, I will always remain a split cleaner, one of the very few left -- rising from my extremely low front squat position and still hoping to execute a jerk is not my idea of fun! Guest guest
Mel, I read this same article a few months ago. It actually had sequential photos of the technique. I will go through my files to try and locate the web site location. Ken Largent Bend, Oregon
Guest guest
Dr. Siff, Hoax or not, this could bring new meaning to the term " repetitive concussion syndrome " . I don't anticipate asking any athletes to try this without their helmet! There original is here: http://www.shtanga.kcn.ru/ The owner of this page is associated with OL club " Raiden " from Kazan, Russia. That article was really posted on April 1st and is in fact a joke. At least so thought the author. Here's his e-mail address: shtanga@... I'm not sure wheather he speaks English though. Sometimes he signs as " materialist " , sometimes as " compiler " ........ [Just when I was beginning to go places with this new technique, which I found much easier to do with a wider, almost snatch style hand spacing! But to manage anything near 70 percent of one's normal jerk using that style is really an impossible April Fool's joke! Great to know that even some Russians like to play practical jokes!
