Guest guest
I've used creatine for several years but not necessarily for weight loss purposes. It does help you make the most of your workout intensity and rewards your efforts by making your muscles look somewhat pumped. I haven't regularly cycled off it to see whether my muscles would severely deflate if I stopped using it. Stasia
Guest guest
Do you mean that you have taken it continously then? I also wondered about the cycling... (I have read Skwigg's site). But wondering what other's have done or noticed! Thanks for your comments. This is also one benefit that I want! > > I've used creatine for several years but not necessarily for weight > loss purposes. Guest guest
Stasia, what is your doseage (e.g. once post-workout only on weight days or twice a day every day)? Guest guest
Funny you should ask this...last week, I told my fiance that creatine just may be the wonder drug of the heavens I take it every morning in my post workout shake. I didn't think it made a difference until my first cycle off of it. Without the creatine, I dreaded lifting (which I normally love) and even running seemed harder. Last week I tried to start another off-cycle but broke down (hence the statement to my fiance) and started taking Betagen again. It definitely helps me increase my intensity, increase my weights, and improves muscle recovery. The muscle pump for me appears most pronounced in my shoulders. I don't notice much bloat from it, but I think it did keep me from showing much weight loss in the beginning of my challenge (added water weight offset my fat loss). I started with plain creatine, but just switched to Betagen...YUMMY
Guest guest
I would just like to add make sure you don't believe everything you read on the web! Everyone is different and while one person might be fine with a supplement (or even medication for that matter) the next person may have problems with it. Just be careful! There is definitely nothing wrong with being all natural. bfedorkner <bfedorkner@...> wrote: Creatine is actually the most-researched supplement out there. Guest guest
I agree that you can't believe everything on the internet, but there is plenty of creatine info elsewhere, too. Even my GP said it was fine, that one of her colleagues, a triathelete, has been taking it for years because it helps his training tremendously. And you're right, there's definitely nothing wrong with being " all natural. " You have to do what will let you sleep at night. Just know, too, that creatine IS all natural. Our bodies naturally make it AND we get it from food. It's made up of three amino acids and our liver has the ability to combine them and make creatine. Our bodies also excrete any excess creatine they don't need in the form of creatinine. I am a fanatic about reading up on stuff and talking to friends, coworkers, people at the gym, my Dr., etc. before taking anything. I did a lot of research and have had great results with creatine. You just have to figure out what works for you. My running/workout buddy has started calling me " SuperChick " because it has helped my weight training, speed & endurance so much! > Creatine is actually the most-researched supplement out there. Guest guest
I should not have said 'all natural', what I meant was lose weight without supplementation of any kind (with the exclusion of multivitamins of course). I'm not for or against creatine, to be honest I don't know anything about it, but personally I am afraid of putting things in my body. If we create it naturally, I'd rather just let my body take care of that itself. Our body's are smart machines, they can adapt and are very capable beyond what we even know. I'm sorry if I offended you or anything I just wanted to play devil's advocate. But I also just wanted to state that a lot of sources on the internet are just a 'normal' person just writing up their own articles and research. Anyone can write or claim anything on the internet BUT with that said there are tons of reliable resources on the web as well. And also what works for one person might not work with the chemistry of another person. I just want people to be smart about the choices they make. I meant no offense at all, and I'm sorry if you thought I was being rude to you. And as always before anyone starts taking something new they should see their doctor first. Again I'm sorry if you thought I was attacking what you said in your post. crazycarbfreak <crazycarbfreak@...> wrote: I agree that you can't believe everything on the internet, but there is plenty of creatine info elsewhere, too. Guest guest
- I'm not sure if you were apologizing to me or bfedorkner, but I wanted to make sure you knew that I was not offended! I was just agreeing with what she said about learning more about creatine (or any other supplement) before completely dismissing it. I'm a big fan of it, but everyone has to do what they feel comfortable with. The great thing about this forum is that everyone's opinion is welcome, so I never get offended by someone else's viewpoint! Take care, :-) Sue > > Creatine is actually the most-researched supplement out there. > They > > have done all kinds of studies and have found that it does NOT > cause > > kidney damage or liver damage. > > > > .::BE.::.DO.::.HAVE::. > > BE committed! Guest guest
Hey Sue, Yeah I was apologizing to you... I'm new here so I didn't want to make a bad first impression. I'm glad you weren't offended, I didn't want to come off as 'preachy'. crazycarbfreak <crazycarbfreak@...> wrote: - I'm not sure if you were apologizing to me or bfedorkner, but I wanted to make sure you knew that I was not offended! Guest guest
Thanks to those who have replied. For those who are using creatine, how often do you cycle off? I am going to do the dosage that suggests but haven't decided about the cycling yet. As soon TOM comes, I am ready to start my Betagen! TIA!
