Guest guest
Hello everyone! GW went to his very first theater movie yesterday to see Pirates of the Caribbean! My husband took him during Matinee hours (so it would be less crowded) and he actually sat thru the movie! GW turns 7 this month....and we never considered even taking him to a movie...but he kept asking to go.....so we kept going over and over, what you can and can't do in the movie theater! We are so proud of him! I thought I would also share some of my son's love for straws and tape! My husband and I are convinced that GW will be the next designer of hear gear! These are the latest in a series of "head gear" that GW creates with straw, tape, ribbons, toys...whatever he can get his hands on...... Just thought I might share.... Guest guest
I am so impressed with your son sitting through that long movie, and I am impressed with your husband that he would sit through it too. LOL, Pat K
Guest guest
It's so great to be able to do fun things like that with our kids! I used to do the same thing...start taking him at times when I knew it wouldnt be crowded and he really loved it! Especially the popcorn! it's just a real treat and even if he makes noises during the movie(kid movies) everybody elses kids are doing the same thing so they don't even pay attention to us! Guest guest
Stacey, that is a good idea. I don't know why I hadn't thought about taking Karac to one of the early movies. I'm going to do that next week. Pat K

Guest guest
Yeah Pat you should! I started out taking him during the week when I knew everybody would be in school or work and the only ones going to the movies are moms with younger kids that make noise anyway so when Cam would squeal or start singing barney it was no disturbance or anxiety for me because everyone was tending to their little distractors! He loves walking into the theatre lobby where the pictures and lights at the concession stand are and of course the smell of popcorn in the air! He picks out what he wants and runs to the theatre! I love doing this with him..it makes me feel very much like a mommy! He still crawls into my lap or wants to lay his head on me and I'll give him deep pressure etc ,it's dark so nobody is looking at you like " what is she doing pressing on his head? " I usually find an area where theres a few empty seats after a while of going he's done well in full theatres too. Also be mindful of how long the movie is,for us 90min is the limit. Good luck!
