Guest guest
You need to contact the medical records department of whichever hospital you want them from, you write to that department direct. Vicky
Guest guest
After talking to Dr Wakefield at the conference on Tuesday about my daughter Katy,we feel we have no alternatives left but to go to Texas. Please does anyone know if I would be able to get copies of my daughters medical notes, she had an Endoscopy in January and various blood tests in December at Great Ormond St Hospital which despite phone calls and e-mails we have not been able to get complete results.I want to be able to bring with us as much information as possible, but am not sure how to go about this. Appreciate any information, Thankyou Sharon.

Guest guest
Sharon, Hope you don’t mind me asking, but why are you going to texas, what is wrong? The reason I am asking is that our son, , has been incontinent for a year. At the worst point he was passing very soft faeces constantly (50-60 times a day). We are seeing and things have improved, now about 15 times a day and on occasion appear normal, but still incontinent. Until 12 months ago was independent at toilet (he is 8). My brother lives in texas (Houston) and I am interested what Dr Wakefield will do for you. I am very happy with what we are doing with Jean. Guest guest
Also Sharon, you have the right to view your childs medical notes. If you contact the hospital in writing you should be given a time to attend and look at the notes. If you contact your consultants secretary she should be able to tell you who to write to. You must do it in writing. Guest guest
-Elaine ,of course I don't mind you asking why we are going to Texas. We are going partly on the recommendation of Dr Usman,Katy was terribly sick following her MMR vaccine when she regressed into Autism, and over the years has proved very difficult to treat ,she's had bad reactions to most things.Like a lot of children she has suffered with constipation and diarrhoea,we've been free of almost everyting diet wise and presently are down to about a total of 10 foods which I can't say for definite that she tolerates,we've gone through so many different kinds and makes of supplements for her to have bad reactions to them such as worse gut symptoms ,fliud retention and severe head jerking. I think we have been extremely unlucky with our G.P and paediatrician who put every symptom down to her being Autistic and that is what Autistic children do attitude. We have been under a Gasroenterologist for 4 years who has not offered any help and she has only now had an endoscopy after 9 years since the onset of Gastro intestinal symptoms. Katy only seems to improve when we take something out and seems to have problems when anything is added in.Saying all of this she has made progress over the years remarkably so when I think of how sick she was in the early years. If we are to move on with biomedical treatment I have to sort out her gut,so I feel I have little alternative but to give her this chance ,and when I asked DR wakefield for advise on Tuesday he advised me to bring her to Thoughtful House for gastro intestinal treatment. This is by no means easy for us finacially and the way things are going I shall be working until I'm eighty!! I'm happy that you are doing well with Jean.I don't know, may be we have gone about things the wrong way.I do know I have tried my best, but with the amount of care ,love and hard work we've put in she should be well now and she isn't. Take care and sorry this is so long!
