With all her little statements she makes and then repeats them over and over lol... she is still a great instructor and has a very nice personality. I did hear that she had lipo suction, which really rubbed me the wrong way hearing, but who knows if its true. I don't use her workouts anymore, but I think she makes good ones and you are right, she has got a lot of people to work out. I did see her Core Complete workout at Walmart and wondered how it was. There are times I've actually thought of buying one her new ones just to see how I'd like it. She never use to annoy me at all, but when I started getting into other instructors she started really getting under my skin. Maybe it was because she was the primary one I worked out with and I thought that's just how they did lol Good going today!!!
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I went with the original FIRM calendar today and did a sculpt workout - I really didn't feel like cardio (too tired from yesterday's activities at work - UGH!)! This one was a good one to do on a day following weights since only light weights and body weight are used (along with the stability ball). I must admit, I liked this workout quite a bit! seems a bit subdued in this workout, although there are plenty of " -isms " in there - " we must we must " (while doing a chest fly); " no more jigglies " (during some innner thigh work); " you'll look great in your low rise jeans " - well you get the idea! In spite of that, I do think this workout was well done - I usually do find 's workouts to be well thought out and executed, it is sometimes just the babble that gets to me. Wheeler choreographed this one, and she does most of 's workouts. Also, I do have to say, in 's defense, she has gotten a lot of women to exercise and that is great - she is also not intimidating at all and just seems like a regular person. Anyway...on to the workout... The DVD is divided into 5 sections warm-up (pretty basic), upper body and core; legs and core; butt and core; and a " bonus " compilation workout of all three sections. There is nothing really unusual presented here - I've seen most of the exercises before, but it did seem effective. I don't think I agree with the Collage rating of inter/adv - I'd put it more into the intermediate category, which is fine. The Upper Body & Core, I felt was a little short on upper body work, it seemed that it was more focused on ab work. Light weights are used - I'd say 3's, 5's and 8's would be good. For legs and core - you just need the ball and it blended ab/core work nicely with the leg work. The butt and core section was my favorite - alternated more traditional weighted work (squats, leg lifts, etc.) with ball work here. The bonus combined footage of all three segments into a " total body " workout. They did use most of the weighted sections from the upper body workout - so that was good since it seemed to be lacking, so I was glad I did this part of the workout as well. This one is really versatile as you can definately use it in its entirety or as an add-on. Each segment is 15-20 minutes long and does include short stretches at the end. I wasn't wiped out when I finished but I definately felt that i worked - particularly my abs, legs and butt. I'd say if you like and like ball workouts this would be a good buy! Tomorrow is cardio - haven't figured out what I'm doing yet, but I have time. Hope everyone has a great day! Guest guest
thankyou so much for your review donna! i have been quite curious about this one. the only thing that i dont like about denise is her breathy child-like voice. other than that, i think that she is ok. i do find her to be more tolerable while doing weighted workouts... it seems to be her cardio workouts that i cant stand. if i see this one at the stores for a good price then i just might buy it ! i do have her other ball workout... mmmm... its on 'shrink your female fat zones' (or whatever it is called), i think. i havent done it yet. :*carolyn. Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure if she had lipo or not, but I will say that her lower body is smaller - she was always a pear shape and now she seems more balanced. I had an old step workout of hers from years ago at one point and you can see the difference - I thought it might have been her workouts - more of a focus on Pilates, weight training, etc, that made the change, but it could be lipo, too! That is sort of disconcerting if it is true. Take care, Donna --- fitgrl222@... wrote: > > In a message dated 10/5/2006 6:14:14 A.M. Guest guest
Good point, Carolyn - they do have to keep up their appearances or no one will buy their products and I believe is in her mid-40's and as we all know, our bodies do change with age....my butt is heading toward my knees in spite of my efforts to stop it and I won't even go into my boobs!!
