Guest guest
Hi Everyone, September and our Ripped rotation is just flying by! I'm having such a good time with it I may extend it a few weeks into October, but I'll see how I feel at the end of this week and next week. But, if I don't extend it, I'm thinking of pulling out the old FIRM 90 Day Rotation Calendar (from 1999) and doing that from Oct through year end. My plan is not to follow it in terms of the workouts listed, but to follow it based on the type of workout for the day - for example - a " barbell " day would be a full body strength day, a " heart " day would be cardio, etc. I would like to do it using mostly the newer firms from the BSS kits and the Kickbutt/FitPrime (original and new) workouts. I don't feel that I ever bonded with the BSS workouts and this might be a way to do that. Anyone interested in joining me? Guest guest
Hi Jen, I was refering to a rotatiton calendar that came out in 98/99 and was a 90 Day rotation of FIRM workouts. The calendar lists specific workouts to do each day, but also includes the workout categories by " icon " the " icons " are: barbell = full body toning (no cardio) heart = cardio hare = FIRM's " hare " style workouts, meaning lighter weights, faster paced cardio tortoise = FIRM's " tortoise " style workouts, meaning heavier weights, slower paced cardio split barbell = upper or lower body split Floorwork Abs The trouble I'm most having in doing it by category is to sort out the hares from the cardio. All of the FIRMs " cardio " workouts use weights, so it is hard for me to tell what is a cardio and what is a hare! Hope this makes sense.... Guest guest
Thanks for the links Kassia! Did you see my comments re: hare vs. cardio -what are your thoughts, it seems that many of the FIRM workouts that are cardio/hare can be both! LOL! Guest guest
i do agree what they call cardio still use four limb compound movements with weights but here is how i will classify when doing the rotation on my own.... when i think hare(fast and light) i would think of something like total body fat blaster and BSS2 maximum cardio burn with allie where i can't use more then 5lbs without compromising my form. fast paced, high intensity aerobics where some segments use weights for four limb movements, also done in quick movements. but if i were to go with slow and heavy(tortiose) i would think something like BSS2 complete aerobics and weights with emily b/c she does cardio then does sculpting where i can pick up those heavy 12 and 15 pounders. i would also put cardio sculpt under this.also when i think of slow and heavy i would think cathe's high step training and high step challenge where her high step circuit can go either way. and of course cardio and weights b/c you have the heavy upper body circuits. to me cardio is cardio and the only equipment i should need is step,a jump rope, and the optional 2lb weight gloves, HRM. but i do see how they use four limb compound movements to get that cardio effect but i prefer to call them cardio/weight circuits instead of just straight up cardio. Guest guest
Hi Donna, I was thinking of extending my Ripped rotation because I got such a rocky start. I finally did the first workout today, I finally bought another one and let my DD keep the one I lent to her. A Firm rotation sounds good. If I'm finished my Ripped rotation in time I'll sure join you! Guest guest
If I remember right when The Firm first came out that was kind of the point to have weight training WITH cardio so I can understand what you mean about sorting them. Why don't you want to follow the rotation you have?
