Guest guest
Hello all, Have not posted in awhile but try to keep up on reading the postings. But I do have a couple questions for the moms who have been going to Erie and seeing Dr. Khoury. My daughter is in her 3rd cast. Starting degree of 42 and in this cast it has gone down to 11 degrees. She is to wear this cast for 3 months instead of only 2 months because she turned 2 yeara old. But while I was there last I asked if I could put in a removable brace or removable cast for the summer because of the heat and to give her skin a break. Her hips are extremely sensitive and I even try to look up there and they are very red. I believe with this 3rd cast she has some very sore pressure spots from how tight the cast is. Dr. K. said NO right away that she would have to wear it all summer. I was just wondering if some of you know if any little ones from the site wear a brace that actually corrects the curve or knows anything about a removable cast??? I think she needs a little break from the tightness but I don't want to lose the correctness we have gotten so far but if a really good brace could keep her at 11 degrees for a couple months I would be pleased. Then jump right back into the casting!! Thanks for any advice offered. Sue Cappelli ( Cappelli 02-23-04)
