Guest guest
Hi , Sounds like you have been busy... You have a lot to deal with... I think I met you just before my computer crashed... Have they ever tried plaquanil on you for the fibro??? Takes 2 - 3 months to finally get into the system, and with me three months of nausea, but after all that it has been well worth it... I'm actually a human being again and don't need my wheelchair... I still have pain everyday of my life, but they are tolerable pains and not so severe like they used to be... I was actually put on the plaquanil for my SLE to try and get it into remission, but it has also done wonders on the fibro, my Dr. was amazed at the difference after 6 months... Way to go on trying to lose the weight... It will make a difference... I lost 46 pounds and I feel a lot better for it... Would like to lose another 30 pounds, but doc said no more than another 10 - 15... I still eat what I want to, just not as much... I lost the 46 though being so ill... Glad that your daughter is doing so well, that is great!!! Post when your up to it and keep us updated on how your doing... ((( Encouraging Hugs ))) Helen Hi all, I am 45/ w fibromyalgia. I am married and have 2 children in their 20's. My son Nick is 24 and healthy, he is a pharmacy tech and is trying to get into pharmacy school to be a pharmacist. My daughter is 22 and has cystic fibrosis. She is in college and doing well. She was dxed at 8 months of age and had a pretty rough time growing up, lots of hospitalizations and home IV's plus 13 sinus surgeries! but since she has been 15 has been doing a lot better. And that was when she had her last sinus surgery. I don't know why she has gotten better, I am just thankful! I joined this group for me and her. I was dxed w/ fibro in 1999. I also have allergies and asthma, chronic sinusitis, am overweight, have high bp and cholesterol, low thyroid, overactive bladder, sleep apnea, depression and anxiety. I am on morphine and Hydrocodone for the pain and 18 other meds for all the other stuff. Right now I am on biaxin for a sinus infection. I have had 4 sinus surgeries. Most of the meds work and I feel pretty well except for some pain. I recently started e-diets and am trying to lose 100 lbs. I can't believe I need to lose that much but I do! So far it's going well, I haven't been hungry. I weigh tomorrow and see if I lost anything yet. I am hoping losing weight will help with my other health problems. I am also starting to exercise but starting slow, only 5 minutes of the exercise bike a day, next week I will try for 10 minutes. So that's the update on me, I don't post very often but I read all the time and pray for you all. love, "When life's problems seem overwhelming, look around and see what other people are coping with. Guest guest
Hi Helen, My pain doc has never suggested plaquanil. I will ask about it at my next visit. I would hate to go through 3 months of nausea. I really hate feeling nauseated! Anyway, thanks for writing back and I will try and keep in better touch. Oh btw, my pcp is sending me to a pulmonogist for my sleep apnea. I have to get some chest x-rays first. When I first got my c-pap I did very well with it, but after quite some time (fibro fog--can't remember! I just could not sleep with it. I tried switching to a mask but it was no better. I am tired all the time, which could be the fibro plus not using the c-pap. love and hugs,
Guest guest
Hi , I'm not fond of being so nauseated either, but to me it was worth the risk as I was at the point of not being able to get across a room on my own... It may not work for all, but at least the everyday pains I put up with now are nothing compared to what I had to suffer with before... Hopefully the pulmonologist will have some answers for you... Guest guest
Hi Helen, I guess my fibro isn't as severe as yours was, I can walk up to a mile or so. I am in pain but I can do it! I am doing well with the avinza so I guess I will stick with it, it does suck to be on addictive meds but they are controlled, I can only take one a day and no more. Hope you're feeling OK these days. love,
Guest guest
Hi , I have more going on than just fibro, so i think with everything so out of control is why I became so ill...
