Guest guest
Hi Jeanette! We are doing great thanks! Madisonjust got her second brace about ten days ago and is doing just fine with it. Dr. Ritchie (her ortho in San ) and Dr. D'Astous are supposed to be having a conference Tues to determine how much longer she needs to wear the brace. Her curve measured at 4 degrees when we got her new brace! We really can't ask for anything better. I can't express our extreme gratitude to and Olivia. How's Nick doing? Where are his numbers? I have a pic of him and Madison in my Day Runner so, I see him and think about him several times each day. Thank you for asking about us and I hope the four of you are doing well. Please keep me posted! Jen SRay and Jeanette <raymus@...> wrote: Hello all,This is Jeanette from California, Nicks mom. I have been trying to keep up with the posts, there' so many new members! I'm sending a special hello and prayer to Olivia and , because without them, (like I always say) Nick would have a back full of rods right now! I hope you two are doing well, coping with life in the hospital again. Regarding the coughing; when Nick had his first cast, he started couging every night at about midnight, usually for an hour or two, and then every morning as soon as he woke up for about a half hour. Sometimes it would last so long and be so hard, he would throw up. His pediatrician ran a series of tests, for allergies, and the breathing one for asthma. They couldn't find anything wrong, but he prescribed Singulair and Nick took it for a month. He stopped coughing and hasn't had the problem since. Nick goes back to slc March 6th. Nick has told us that he prefers his Dad going with him instead of me (ouch!), so there's goes my chance to meet whoever's going then! Our daughter gets way more upset when I go to slc as opposed to when her Dad goes, so we have stopped taking turns taking Nick to Utah for a while. I want Nick to be as happy and as comfy as possible so I didn't make a fuss. It's hard for me not to be there though. I'm hoping one of these trips all four of us can go. Anyone else from the group going at the same time? Bert, I see Nick will miss Bridget again, he will be very disappointed. Guest guest
Hi Jeanette, That is a shame we will miss you guys too. Bridget still looks at her snow photos with Nick every now and then and asks me when we might see him again. She refers to him as "my other friend who has a crooked back like me." Surely one day we could swing a visit together. How is Nick's back going? He had a bit of time without a cast didn't he? Bridget and Nick have quite similar curves. We have been working on changing Bridget's sitting position. I don't know how successful it's been but she tries to sit straighter and has stopped sitting with one foot under her. It's very hard to get her to do all the physio we are supposed to every day. Hi to Nick and Ray form us BertRay and Jeanette <raymus@...> wrote: Hello all,This is Jeanette from California, Nicks mom. Guest guest
Jeanette and Ray, and Olivia will still be in SLC when you get there. Olivia has her Veptr surgery on Friday March 3rd. She will need at least a week to recover. I know is glad to have everyone supporting her and Olivia in prayer, so thanks!!! I don't know how often she will be able to check in here, but if I talk to her by phone soon I will pass on the message. Olivia got her halo Thursday morning (the 19th) and will have it on until March 3rd. was hoping to get Room 3 for them, but I haven't heard yet if that is exactly where they are. I bet they would love a card though. I'll be sure to post if I hear from her. Shellie GrantRay and Jeanette <raymus@...> wrote: Hello all,This is Jeanette from California, Nicks mom. Guest guest
Good luck with his appt in March. Keep us posted on how it goes. Noelle (12-2-01)Ian (8-15-04) prayers, coughing, slc dates Hello all,This is Jeanette from California, Nicks mom. I have been trying to keep up with the posts, there' so many new members! It's so great to have a support network. We're praying for all the kids and wish all the best for their procedures. Hope you're both doing great!Jen S in San Angelo, how's Madison doing out of cast?Best wishes, Jeanette
